Yangmingshan is huge, there are shuttle buses that takes you to the different points of interests. (sulphur vents, hot spring, meadow...) It's hard to predict the weather on the mountain, when I was there I saw nothing but fog. A good place to go when...More

Out of the multiple times that we've been in Taipei, Yangmingshan has always been a part of our itinerary. Definitely worth visiting especially on months that you'd witness the cherry blossoms bloom.

How many major metropoles can pride themselves in having a national park located within city limits? Taipei is one of the very few that do. You can only fully appreciate Taipei once you experience how thin is the boundary between the urban jungle and jungle-jungle,...More

Went back in April 2014 and there were a few sakura trees blooming (lucky us!!), however weather was too cold with the strong wind so we couldn't get around too much.

Hello there. Two of us will go to YMS on March 5. I read the reviews and many people say that it's really dificult if you don't go by private car/ rental car coz the buses are always crowded. Anybody go on that day can share the car with us? What is the best trail for cherry blossom? Thank you so much

I would agree that it would be best to have a private car or tour van/bus. I don't know the best trail for cherry blossoms.

You could take bus 260 from Taipei main station or bus 111, 303 from Shilin MRT bus station (Zhong Zheng) to Yangmingshan. I guess taking mrt to Shilin and change to bus 111 or 103 would be a faster route to avoid traffic on... More
