It’s great idea for a family trip to travel to MaoKong by cable car. Enjoy the view of Taipei city whilst drinking tea at tea house. Crystal cable car is recommended if you are not afraid of the height. The best tourist attraction in Taipei.

This is a must do when visiting Taipei. There are several stops along the mountainside. You pay one rate and can get off, visit a temple or get something to eat and then hop back on and keep going. It gives one a great view...More

Yes, the line is longer and it costs more, but if you're going to ride the Maokong Gondola you should go all out and enjoy the view!

I was half expecting another Ngong Ping Village (Hong Kong's Lantau Island) when I visited Mao Kong but was pleasantly surprised to see that the place wasn't as commercialised and touristy as NP360. There's still a rustic charm to Mao Kong. The gondola ride took...More

If you want to see a different perspective of Taipei try riding the Maekong Gondola. It has a beautiful view but I'd avoid it if you were scared of heights. When you get to the top, try some matcha ice cream, tea or some of...More

Hi, We're heading to Taipei for a couple days in a week. Just wondering about this pass you refer to. I checked out the info at the Maokong metro Taipei website (which I am not permitted to include in this post). We're looking for a two-day pass so we can see lots of temples on Day 1, then go to the Maokong on Day 2, but I don't see a two-day pass that includes the Maokong. What do you think would be best? To just buy two one-day passes, one that's transportation only and the next day the one that includes the Maokong? This is the info I copied from the metro site "2-day Transportation Pass. NT$310" "Taipei Metro and bus services" "1-Day Pass (for retail purchase) NT$150" Taipei Metro "1-day Transportation Pass (Maokong Gondola Version) NT$350" "Taipei Metro, bus services, and Maokong Gondola" Thanks!

Most of the restaurants there are like tea house. There are also stalls along the road and in a hawker centre that sells local street food. However, there are no halal certified restaurants up there.
