Nice views!

We enjoyed the ride to the top, had some tea when we arrived. Be sure to get on the glass bottom gondola.

I went three times in the past three years. And I think if I go, I would do it again. I like going to the cabin floor glass. Have a more interesting on the route. And when you get to the final station, to go on the main street and to have lunch at one of the restaurants where you... More

Easy to get to on the metro and by far the best gondola ride we have ever had . We had to queue for a short while to get on the gondola so it is probably best to go early. We went right to the top and had a walk around the tea plantations. Also had excellent coffee and cake... More

On our last day in Taiwan, we decided to take the Maokong Gondola. It is very accessible. You can take a train to the gondola station. This is near the zoo so you can actually go to the zoo and also experience the gondola ride. The view is pretty nice and if you have time to spare, wait for a... More

Did not plan on this trip being an "adventure ride" - but the winds the day I rode were somewhat "breezy" to say the least. So, with the winds bouncing the cab around, and the shear height above the ground (and beautiful scenery), it was quite a ride. Be advised that it takes about 20-30min for the entire journey to... Buy a Taipei Day Pass that includes the gondola. One Day Pass costs 350 NTD for unlimited metro, bus and gondola rides. Good value and it saves you the hassle of queueing, preparing the exact change, etc.

You just have to do this. We did it alone not as a tour. Easy to get to on public transport. Your "go Card" as we know it which is the normal train ticket takes you right there. Lots of charming litle restaurants with menu having pictures and some staff speaking english to help in a very joyful manner.

We loved this place as the cable car ride was affordable - NT$100 (S$2.50) one way per person for 3 stops. MaoKong is the last stop. The ride was amazing; and the sceneries- WOW! Just remember to opt for the see through bottom glass panel cable car, instead. Lots of local delights up the mountain as well as tea houses.

Went to Maokong on a rainy day and the gondola ride wasn't that spectacular. Upon disembarking at the last stop, we ate at a diner's area where the food was pretty pricey (tourist prices). Then walked on to look for the Taipei Tea Promotion Center. Go to the nearest bathroom you can find. The next one might be a bit... More

This was one of my favorite places to spend serene outdoor time in Taipei. I loved the greenery, the restaurants at the top, being able to go to different parts of Mao Kong, and being able to see Taipei from above!
