We have been to the big Floating markets in the past but this time we decided to go to one that is more for the locals . Our Driver dropped us at the entrance near the Car park and we wandered through the Food stalls before arriving at the Canal . We did try some of the Food which although Tasty was not exceptional , prices were average . We were dissaponted to see little in the way of Traders selling their Wares from small Boats . Everything was Land Based except the Overpriced Canal Rides for which there was a fairly long wait as they were packed out . We were entertained by a Busker who was quite good , Cold Beers were not too overpriced at 90 Baht . The Canal ride was expensive but you do get to Feed the Monster Catfish which inhabit the Canal . They make several stops at different Traders along the Canal where they sell their overpriced Wares and there is a 20 minute stop at a small Temple before retuning to the Market . Dissapointed

Visited here via a private long boat canal tour. Had a very authentic feel not touristy. Mostly locals at the market.

Waste of time

This is all about getting as much money as possible out of your pocket without any boundaries. Becarefull before you take a picture when they hand you an animal because they force you to pay 1500 bath. Your boat driver will just not proceed. Looking at all the pictures you expect a lot of boats with fruits etc. But it is all the same souvenirs you see everywhere and a lot of food.
I would suggest you go somewhere else if possible. It is just no worth it.

It's fake. Not at all a floating market.

It's an attraction for tourists.
You have to buy an expensive ticket to ride by boat, and during the boat there a many small stores selling the same souveniers you meet anywhere, but with overpriced (4 times more expensive)

Tiny weekend market, nothing special
Feb 2020 • Couples
This is a very small market that is ONLY happening on WEEKENDS. Just a few boats along the pier on which they cook food, and you can sit in the middle to eat it. Not a big tourist location, so don't expect picturesque experience. Had some pretty good seafood for a bargain price! 300 THB for 6 enormous shrimps, 100 for 6 scallops, 200 for a fish, all tasted good. Adjoining the pier there's market with more steed foods and even real coffee! Cowboy making roti and singing along retro pop was awesome!

The boat trip is 69 THB, you sit for 1 h on a tiny wooden bench squeezed among other 20+ tourists (so if you have 1000 THB to spear, get a private boat). The tour is nice, you get to see real Thai people's homes built along the canals. They will stop for you to feed the fish, then once more to see a local temple. It's exactly what you would expect for 69 THB. But I hate being splashed with the filthy water from the canal tho...

Not at all a floating market

Never go to this place if you really want to see a floating market. There is nothing here other than a calm boat ride with few souvenir shops in the land. You can visit a small temple in your trip, I have attached one photo who sold something on the river (fruits) only one boat we have seen in our whole trip.

Taling Chan Floating Market Tour
Feb 2020 • Couples
We had a great time on our tour of the Taling Chan floating markets. It’s a long cab ride from Bangkok but it’s much shorter than the other (bigger) floating market that’s 100 kilometers away. This market is set up more for the locals than the tourists and there is a wide variety of foods to chose from and a superb canal long boat ride which is a must while you’re there. My wife and I really enjoyed this tour!

Small authentic market

Taling Chan is a little bit out of the way from the city but was totally worth it.

It is on the small side and there werent that many boat sellers. Most boats were on the central of the market where the food stalls were and were used to provide a place to cook the dishes. Basically, you sit at one of the many benches and tables in the middle of the market, order from the menu and they cook it on the boat.

However, at our chosen stall our orders were already pre-cooked and the fish was re-heated on the boat before it was served. It was kinda disappointing but I wouldnt complain much since we were travelling with 2 hungry toddlers; speedy service was more important :)

The highlight of the half day trip was the boat ride; there is a stall selling the tickets for it (it was near the place where there were traditional musicians playing - we missed it the first round the market as we were distracted by the musicians) and you have to choose the time slot for the ride.

Once you've got your tickets, proceed to the waiting area on the deck where you'll board the boat when your time slot comes.

On the ride you'll get to see the houses of the people living by the river, the many canals branching off from the main river, feed the local fish and then it will stop at a local temple where you can wander around for like 10 mins before boarding the boat for the return trip.

All in all we enjoyed our trip here.

Really cool floating market
Dec 2019 • Couples
This floating market is fairly small but I really enjoyed it. Apparently the other floating markets are full of tourists with people trying to sell you a bunch of cheap stuff and are quite a journey to get to. This one was lovely. Only a few boats floating but a nice little dock to sit on and take it all in at one end. Prices were great. Lots of locals. Fantastic food! Go hungry! Easy to get to by bus from our hotel (prince palace). One bus took us right there for about $1.50 each. Really nice ladies selling Thai iced milk tea and Thai iced coffee near the entrance for 20 baht each.
We really enjoyed our morning there!

Actually is quite nice, and interesting place to have some food. Not so touristic as many local is going. But from downtown is one 2 hours one directions. For what to see not sure the trip is worthy.
