The exhibition provides 2 tours, 2hrs each. I joined both so I spent 4 hrs there and never got bored. It tells the history and stories about Bangkok Rattanakosin area with multiple media. English guide system is provided. Very fun!

We spend 6 hours here. Make sure you have enough time because the two routines don’t always stick to each other in the schedule, so sometime you have to wait for the second routine after you finished the first one.The exhibition was the best I have ever been to in my entire life. They have a TRUE COFFEE inside the... More

The concept is great and supposed to give you an overview about Thai history and culture in an interactive way. Main problem is that making the tour in a group with a guide - with quite limited English level - provided by the museum is mandatory. Unfortunately this means you are getting rushed from room to room. At the reception... More

This is not a quick visit - wanted to get that out first. Visitors must go with one of the guidees provided, and the tour - while free - takes close to 3 hours start-to-finish. For anyone interested in learning about Thai history and culture, the Rattanakosin Exhibition centre's numerous interactive displays are a good place to start. Good for... More

The place and building are really nice but the contents inside are not that interesrting for me ,because maybe I am a native that knows some of the history already. The staffs are great they know deeply what they are well-trained and know what they are talking about deeply.

The exhibitions here are great if you're interested in learning about Thai culture. You have to take their guided tours, which takes 2 hours each. It's not an option to go in without being a part of a guided tour. For us the tour was way too long, some parts were interesting but we didn't get to spend enough time... More

This exhibition was recommended to me by the staff at the hostel. I decided to give it a try. I was informed that the ticket is free of charge up until Jan 31. I also wanted to borrow a headset for non Thai speaking visitor. I didn't bring my passport or 1000 baht a for deposit ( rookie mistake, always... More

We walked past it and decided to have a quick look. They told us that it was free and that we would have a tour guide so our expectations were not that high, honestly, but in the end this was a highlight for us. We learned a lot about Thai history and culture. We were actually the only non-Thai language... More

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
