I am a cooking class veteran, and this one was one of the best! Absolutely loved the class! Market tour was great, the recipes were nicely written and the instructions were very simple. The highlight was the instructor. Mae was so cheerful, so much fun! She made us laugh a lot, which contributed to super fun atmosphere of the class.... More

This Cooking class was very informational. They went over many of the different fruits and veggies at the market which we were not familiar with. The cooking was great and the food tasted good. We enjoyed the whole experience.

Had a really lovely group of people doing the class. Fun going to the markets and seeing the ingredients for cooking. Great fun making the dishes and later eating them. Our teacher vet good very clear with instructions. We found it a little challenging finding the entrance. Look for the Lucky Shop next to the Five Star Hostel. Opposite you... More

If you, like me have struggled in the past with getting your Thai cooking anywhere close to "for real" then this is a great course to take. Proffesional motivated teacher, good facility, and you walk away with new super tasty skills!!

We had a chance to spend a few hours at this cooking class and learned so much about Thai food. It was an experience we will be able to use back home. Thanks for a lovely afternoon. I will mention that we missed the first part of the class - a trip to the market via TukTuk - which was... More

This is a great class! I loved that we went to the local market. Not only did we purchased ingredients for class, Mae explained many of the veggies and ingredients at market we were not using. It was almost a separate class in shopping at Thai market. Mae is great cook and well prepared. She had helpers that assisted with... More

I have taken many cooking classes in Bangkok as the expert reviewer at Cookly (a website that allows you to book cooking classes on your travels) and I really enjoyed my class at Maliwan. Mae gave us a very detailed Thai cooking class to prepare us for when we want to cook at home. I really enjoyed the specific details... More

Attended with my mom and 2 daughters. We had such a great time! Mae was so kind and fun. Everything was organized and user friendly. Our food was SO good and I am excited to try my recipes out at home! This is a must do on your trip to Bangkok.

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
