Wat Arun blew me away with its architecture
For me, Wat Arun is a must-visit destination in Bangkok. Beautiful architecture, prime location, visible from the Chao Phraya River. I was particularly impressed by the architecture of this temple, different from previous temples I had seen. Under the sunlight, the temple seemed to shine in the ancient space.

    Lovely place to visit
A different type of building structure to the other places we visited. It was amazing to see and so many people dressed up in traditional Thai clothes that can be hired in the market on the site. Go early to avoid the crowds.

    Beautiful
Incredibly beautiful temple with unique carved figures throughout it's exterior. As soon as you enter the gates you need to have knees and shoulders covered. You are fine with T Shirt as long as you can't see armpits or shoulders. They sell elephant pants for 200 baht. You only have to take your shoes off if you enter the tiny temple bit. Get here as early as you can as there is no breeze and it's a lot cooler

    Fantastic monument
This time I visited the Wat in the evening. It is closed in the darkness but you can make pretty pictures and there is a great silent atmosphere without hundreds of tourists. I enjoyed this time in the evening as much as you visit the whole area during the day.

    Unmissable and very instamable
It is a magical place Really very beautiful and full of details in every corner. In addition to the wonderful buildings and statues, it is spectacular to see Thais in their traditional costumes go to this place for photo sessions, which gives it a very special atmosphere. Admission includes a small bottle of water From here you can go to the Grand Palace by boat and the journey takes less than 10 minutes

One of the most beautiful temples I’ve ever seen!
Temple was beautiful! There was a lot of people though and it was very hot with not a lot of places to sit in the shade. I recommend that you get there either very early before it gets too hot or later in the evening before closing time. We arrived at 3 PM and that was probably the worst time to go. There were so many people we couldn’t really enjoy the temple at all. Entrance fee was 100 baht for foreigners, but I think they were raising the price to 200 baht after March 1, 2024. Entrance fee does include a bottle of water, but it was not cold. The bathrooms are near the front so be sure to use it on the way in or out. I don’t think there were bathrooms any where else. Once inside it you go to the left and keep walking, there is a small cafe on the left where there is a bit of shade and snacks and drinks. If you walk the right side there are some places for shopping for souvenirs as well.

five points It is highly recommended to see its magnificence with your own eyes when traveling to Bangkok, Thailand! Day, dusk, and night all have their unique charm! Wat Arun, known to Thais as the Temple of the Dawn, symbolizes light, hope, and a new beginning. The entire temple has a long history and strong religious and cultural elements, and its unique appearance is located on the banks of the Chao Phraya River. Therefore, it attracts a large number of tourists every year and can be said to be one of the landmarks of Bangkok. ! Hotel Recommendation UHG Quarter Hotel

Temple of Dawn - impressive and relaxing
We arrived by water taxi from the other side of the river and spent several hours here. The temple is spectacular, rises to a great height and is very impressive. Pay an entrance fee of 200 baht per person (for tourists). The place is packed with tourists and people taking pictures in traditional clothing that can be rented on the spot. We arrived at noon and it was very hot. It is recommended to prepare with water and a hat, there is almost no shade. For women - you should come in modest clothing, a shirt that covers the shoulders and long pants. There are scarves at the entrance that are distributed to those who do not arrive dressed accordingly

    good temple
The people who come here are so pious, there are so many good gods, and they are very beautiful. It is suitable for sightseeing, taking photos, and checking in. The gods feel very powerful and they seem to help me complete my life list. I would like to thank the gods here first and praise the gods.

    Must do evening activity!
We took a water taxi (16 baht one way) and paid the 200 baht entrance fee in the evening when it wasn’t as hot. It is very impressive in the full sun but it is so much better during dusk! The stairs to climb up the first level are fairly steep and there are no handrails. We sat at some picnic tables they have in the back and watched the sun go down and the lights come on and it kept getting better and better! The facility closes at 6 but they let people stay until 6:30. You have to exit out the back of the temple and walk several hundred yards just to turn around and walk all the way back outside the gates which takes about 15 minutes back to the pier. There aren’t almost any signs about which water taxi to take but the staff are helpful and will make sure you’re on the right one. We paid for the water taxi on the boat when leaving Wat Arun vs buying our ticket on the dock when heading towards Wat Arun. We really enjoyed going late in the day too because when the boat leaves you see it lit up from the water.

This temple is a must-visit if you are in Bangkok. It is a bit difficult to get there because there is no BTS, but you can go to the pier and take a boat, which is much cheaper. There are few attractions inside and it doesn't seem spacious, but the photo angles are nice. You can rent traditional costumes at the shops nearby.
It is recommended to go there before 9am because after 9am there will be many tours and it will be crowded, making it difficult to take photos

I took a taxi (yellow and green) from Wat Pak Nam to Wat Arun, it took about 25 minutes and cost 78 baht. The entrance fee was 100 baht. I was not given water. A stamp was put on the back of my hand. I couldn't take my time to look around because many Korean tourists were renting Thai costumes and taking pictures everywhere. It was my third visit, and the sun was shining on the embedded fragments, making it dazzlingly beautiful. The stairs are steep and it is dangerous to climb them without using both hands. The upper stairs that I was able to climb last time were now off-limits. I took a boat to the opposite bank (5 baht), but there were many people waiting to board along the opposite bank, so I couldn't take pictures. After this, I got on the boat again on the Wat Arun side to go to ICONSIAM.

I visited Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn) as part of a cruise ship excursion visiting the top sights in Bangkok. I really enjoyed my stop here. We had about an hour which was enough time to admire the beautiful temple spires that make up this religious site, which apparently is the most photographed of all the temples in the city.

The temple is located right alongside the river and we arrived there by boat. A ferry runs between Wat Arun and the Wat Pho complex the opposite side of the river. It was very busy there but that didn't distract from the beauty of the site, and it was curious to watch all the locals in their finest dress and wedding outfits posing with their parasols for photos. Not sure if that happens every day or just because we were visiting on a Sunday but it was fascinating to see.

If you want to shop, there is a local market that runs along one side of the site with very affordable gifts, magnets, etc. Wat Arun was one of the highlights of my visit to Bangkok.

Our visit to Wat Arun was marked by the intense heat and humidity typical of Bangkok, so be prepared with plenty of water, sunscreen, and perhaps a hat to keep cool. The temple itself is beautiful, but I didn’t expect how crowded it would be.

One unique aspect of Wat Arun is the availability of photographers and traditional dresses for rent, allowing visitors to do a photoshoot. However, it seemed like everyone else had the same idea, which made the place feel more like a huge photoshoot event than a serene temple visit. This kind of ruins the mood if you're looking for a peaceful experience, so I would recommend skipping it if you're not into crowded tourist spots.

On a positive note, the architecture of Wat Arun is absolutely amazing. The temple, also known as the Temple of Dawn, is renowned for its towering spires and intricate details. The central prang is beautifully adorned with colorful porcelain and seashells, which sparkle in the sunlight, creating a stunning visual effect. The craftsmanship and artistry that went into building Wat Arun are truly impressive and worth seeing.

To beat the heat, make sure to try the exclusive Wat Arun ice cream. It’s not just eye candy but truly delicious, offering a refreshing treat after exploring the temple grounds.

In summary, while Wat Arun is undoubtedly a beautiful and architecturally significant site, the overwhelming crowds and the photoshoot atmosphere might detract from the experience. If you decide to visit, come prepared for the heat and make sure to enjoy the delicious ice cream!

Was told that this was a must see in Bangkok but was somewhat underwhelmed. The price per person has recently increased from 100 baht to 200 baht and I am not sure that this increase is justifiable. Be aware that the whole site is crawling with people in traditional Thai dress getting portraits taken and whilst this may seem like a good thing to see we found some of the photographs and subjects were some what aggressive if we happened to be standing where they wanted to pose.

The highlight of the visit was the rehearsal for the King's River Parade with a number of large and ornately decorated dragons boats rowing down the river with atmospheric chanting. This happens every Thursday afternoon until the end of October and the temple makes an ideal viewing spot for this

Wat Arun Ratchawararam Ratchawaramahawihan (Wat Chaeng)
Or that many people are familiar with the beautiful Phra Prang, standing prominently on the banks of the Chao Phraya River.
The Phra Prang is beautifully and intricately decorated with various colored glazed porcelain pieces.
The most beautiful time to see Wat Arun Ratchawararam Ratchaworamahawihan is the sunrise and sunset in the evening.

Bangkok’s most stunning landmarks, with its iconic riverside location and intricate design. The best way to get there is by boat from Saphan Taksin BTS Station, which is fast and scenic. Tourists should consider a day pass for the tourist boat, as it’s convenient and lets you explore other attractions along the river. Wat Arun is especially beautiful during sunrise or sunset, making it a must-visit for travelers.

Wat Arun, also known as the Temple of Dawn, is one of Bangkok's most majestic landmarks. Its intricate design and towering spires are breathtaking during the day, but the real magic happens at sunset. Watching the temple glow in golden hues as the sun dips below the horizon is an unforgettable experience.

For the best view, head to the opposite side of the Chao Phraya River. From there, you can see the temple beautifully lit, reflecting on the water—it’s pure serenity. A must-visit for anyone in Bangkok, especially photographers and sunset lovers!

Wat Arun, a temple with a tall stone tower that can be seen from anywhere along the Chao Phraya River. It is colorful and beautiful by stacking stones and adding colored ceramics. It is a precious tower of wishes built with faith and sincerity over a long period of time. A temple that stands out for its sophistication. If you buy a ticket at the entrance, you will receive a 350ml bottle of water.

During my stay in Bangkok, I had the opportunity to visit this Buddhist temple, which was the first one on my list. Despite the holiday crowds, I was immediately drawn to the ancient style buildings that make up the temple complex. Although the closing time is a bit early, I highly recommend making the effort to visit this beautiful and historic site.
