Bua Tong is an hour north of Chiang Mai. The falls are grippy and 300 metres long. They will keep you busy for a good hour. Perfect for a GoPro camera, or a normal one if careful. You can take a picnic, like the locals do, and sit at the grassy area at the top. Or buy some food at... More

This waterfall have 3 level of limestone waterfall that you can climbing with rope from the bottom to the top. But there didn't have... More

My boyfriend and I paid 1200 TB for one of the red taxis to drive us here. It was definitely worth the 1 hour drive. The waterfalls are beautiful and amazing.. you can't quite believe that you can walk up and down them until you do it. Our only regret was not staying longer as we only had an hour.... More

The waterfalls are about 1 hour drive from Chiangmai. This is not Niagara Falls ! It's more of a family friendly water attraction Water is just the right temperature providing a bit of cooling from the hot weather. The place, seems very popular with families, many of them with small children. While impressive and potentially dangerous if you were to... More

Although it's a fairly long drive from Chiang Mai, our group of 14 people all loved this experience so much! It was dry season (and hot!), but there was plenty of water in the waterfall and so refreshing! We took a picnic lunch, but there are places to buy some food and there are bathrooms.

We visited a few weeks ago when it was a little cooler. A driver was hired for about 5 hours, allowing roughly an hour each way for the journey. We used comfortable transport, so it was a THB 2000 trip (between 4 people), and made an early morning start. On arrival, there were only 2 other people there - bliss,... More

About an hour east of Chiang Mai is a pretty cool waterfall that you can literally walk up. You can fit this one in on an early morning outing. There is not much else to see or do there but walk down the falls then walk up them again but it was pretty cool. Like anywhere in Thailand there are... More

We enjoyed a fantastic afternoon out with the kids! So much fun going on adventures up and down the waterfalls. 2 hours is a great amount of time here Tips: Pack swimwear, towels, spare clothing, snacks, water, sunscreen, insect spray, hat.

Rented a moped and drove from Chiang Mai to Bua Thong Waterfalls, easy enough drive (took about 1hr20m), the waterfall is well signposted as you approach so you can't really miss it. As described by other reviews the 'sticky' rock allows you to walk/climb all the way up the water fall. You can't swim at the bottom of the waterfall... More
