Advertised mostly as a “Ganesh Museum,“ this establishment is also a mixture of temple buildings and, an ashram, and was obviously founded by a devotee of Lord Ganesh. There are more impressive images of Ganesh than ever I saw in India. There appears to be a palace for the god, equipped with his writing desk in an office, and a... More

What at first appears to be an ordinary, quiet, rural temple, albeit dedicated to Ganesh, turns out to be an unexpectedly, varied and pleasant experience. It is large and some of the buildings are still under construction. The few waxworks are of a similar standard to those in Madame Tussauds of Musee Grevin. There is plenty to see but the most... Somewhere along road 3018, someone has built a large scale temple / museum in honor of the Hindu god Ganesha. But it is popular amongst both local and tourist worshipers. I expected nothing but was impressed by the atmosphere and the large collection of Ganesha items. Here you will find a beautiful area with a temple, a museum and a... More

The Ganesh Himal Museum has been one of my most favorite places to visit in the Chiang Mai area, The museum is located about 8 kilometers off of the main highway going through Doi Lo which is south of Chiang Mai. It is a large complex of intriguiging buildings displaying many forms of Ganesh statues and other artworks from many... More

This will only take an hour or two of your time and is reasonably close to Chiang Mai but you may take a car to get there. Ganesha Heaven with so many choices and nice to escape Chiang Mai

The museum located away from main town. You have to travel by private car or rent the van to get there. It located deep inside the alley away from main road. There're parking inside. Once you walk inside the entrance on your left there're small building which you can pray with Ganesh. By tradition of visit, there's the staff guide... More

It is out the way and not easy to find. About 25 Kms from Chiang Mai. We were the only non Thais so it was nice not to be in an obvious tourist attraction. It is free to enter with some English explainations regarding the significance of Ganesh. A very spiritual experience but good luck finding it.

We visited this Hindu temple and the museum during our recent trip to Chiang Mai. This place is a little bit out of the way and approximately 25 km out of Chiang Mai, but it is worth the effort to get there. There is Ganesh temple and the museum of Ganesh idols from all over the world. Surprisingly, the museum... More
