Everything to see here is miles apart you need to use some sort of transportation available, especially if it is too hot. There are not that many animals to see also which makes the trek in between enclosures not really worth it

But poor Animals Although the zoo is huge, the animals have either small cages/spaces or are alone, e.g. Orangutan

Dont get me wrong the Zoo alone is pretty impressive when it comes of sizes . The problem is not much of elephant inside, the lion is alone, the tiger is alone, the urang utan is alone. The monkey, crocodile, Jaguar is under construction. Entrance...More

Judging by the exterior the zoo seems to be quite a spectacle but we soon found it to be eerily quiet, however we initially put this down to it perhaps not being a school holiday. The reason behind this soon became clear with the animal...More

Visited this Zoo about 5/6 years ago and it has deteriorated and is now quite average. A lot of exhibits are either closed or run down and lacking in any volume of animals. Went with two other couples who were mutually unimpressed. While entry fee...More

We were a little precautious about seeing the zoo but it wasn't too bad with most of the animals having a fairly good area to enjoy. The zoo is a little run down and there werent too many people there the day we went. The...More

The place is too big, I strongly advise you to take a shuttle or rent a golf cart. There are many mountain roads and the animals are scatters in different part. Entrance is THB 150 excluding panda area.

It was open during my visit. You might contact the zoo when in Chiang Mai before you go there. There are many things to do in Chiang Mai. I would also highly recommend a visit to Pai and Dragon Flight zip line.

Hello you can defiantly buy them on the gate when you arrive :) it's massive zoo so I don't think they would ever sell out.

Is the monorail being run again as it seems to have been out of use for years? We shall be coming again in January 2017.

No Monorail but a really good hop on hop off bus around the zoo, much cheaper than the golf buggy
