This compound is split into sections based on tribal affiliation. Crude hand painted signs direct you to the different tribal sections. These paths takes you to Hmong or Akah or Karen sections. They are at conceivably residential hilltribe houses. Kids run around, men do repair...More

To visit the tribe it was more expensive than anything else I did. It seems as though it is setup for tourists to gawk at and no authenticity to it. It was more like walking through a market and having long necks try to sell...More

Don't think this was worth it at all. Avoid at all cost and spend the money elsewhere instead. 500 Baht per adult and 250 Baht per child, collected at the entrance by people who look like gangsters. We have learn nothing about the long neck...More

Part of our trip to SE Asia was to spend one of our Chiang Mai days seeing the Temples, visiting the Karen Longneck Tribe, exploring the Worarot Market and riding a rickshaw through the Old City. Our guide, Mia, who was provided to us by...More

Not sure what this is about. Seams like a rip off to me. We paid a fair wack of money to get in here and for what! A trip round the bush and people selling rubbish. It was an expensive trip for nothing.

The hilltribe village we visited had limited things to see and were really showing off people in traditional clothing and trying to sell tourist items to tourists. It was a bit depressing and we felt sorry for the hilltribe although it seems many of them...More

First off, it does NOT cost money to go see Hill Tribe people, there is no entrance fee! Just buy their stuff to show support. Don't be rude and just take pictures. We took Billy Tour and he totally ripped us off. Billy quoted us...More

While the photographer in me enjoyed the photographic opportunity, the whole experience was fairly depressing. It felt like we were in a human zoo with the inmates told they had to pose whenever a camera was pointed at them. We did buy a few things...More

Hi. Feb/March would be slightly cheaper than January. Thailand is a country rich in culture and relatively cost effective. You will have a great time anywhere in this country and of course the shopping is always fun..
