Book this experience!!! Incredible participating in the ethical and conservative treatment of elephants
I cannot say enough about this experience. The elephant rescue Park has an amazing stories from Mr kid in his dream to provide ethical care and conservation of elephants. From the moment the driver picked us up Mr arm. He gave us such a rich history of Thailand. Background story of elephants. And the plight to help them have better life here. His English is quite good and we had no problems communicating with anyone. We arrived at the park and had an introduction to the parks philosophy and how it got started. It really is an inspirational story. Then we were led to meet the elephants and feed them, take them on a walk, and then take them down to bathe them. The tour guys were amazing with information and guidance. Even though the elephants are gigantic they're quite docile and felt safe being around them. Then we were treated to a local authentic Thailand cooked by Pot, the wife. Out of our 5 days in Thailand this was hands down the best meal we've had. The taste and flavors were absolutely amazing. We were driven back to our hotel and on the way the driver even stopped at a beautiful temple for us to visit. This elephant rescue park experience is definitely a top of our list for a bucket list experience and so glad that we did it with this company as they are authentic for rescuing, care and treatment of the elephants. Great for families or couples.
Thank you so much for your honest review, it means so much ❤️ we hope to see you again one day... please share your experience with your friends and family.

    An unforgettable experience
My girlfriend and I managed to book a full day tour on short notice at Elephant Rescue Park, who were very accommodating and got us in the next day with another couple, so we were a group of 4 which was fortunate. We were picked up at our hotel at the time provided, the driver was punctual, and the vehicle was clean and air conditioned. Our experience here was absolutely fantastic, we were looked after by Shai who was very enthusiastic and had the answer to any question we had about the elephants. We were lucky enough to really get up close and personal with the elephants, we fed them, walked with them through the mountains and bathed them which was nothing short of incredible. We were also provided with a lovely lunch, cooked on site by the team who did not hold back on the portions! It’s apparent how well looked after these elephants are by the team and the day is very much dictated by the elephants needs, the team will not force them to do anything they don’t want to, which is reassuring. The work they do with these rescued circus/working plant elephants is so wonderful to see, each elephant is individually cared for by a single handler and the bonds formed between them are clear to see. I want to thank everyone in the team for the experience they gave us, and I urge anyone coming to Chiang Mai to visit this park and support the incredible work they do.
It’s nice to hear feedback from you. The experience that you got with our elephants was daily practice for us even without visitors. This is the reason why these elephants are so friendly and adorable beside their handlers. They are big giants and need love from us like other small pets. Making them happy is our aim. Welcome everyone to witness and get this great experience everyday!

    A Must-Visit in Chiang Mai!
We had an amazing experience at the Elephant Rescue Park! Our tour guide, Andy, was awesome! We enjoyed talking with him and learning from his extensive knowledge of elephants and Thailand more broadly. He took so many great pictures for us and even kept the tour going with a smile on his face when we got caught in a short rain shower. The rescue park is very nice, and the elephants seem happy and well-cared for. It was incredible to be able to interact with such beautiful animals up close. Thank you to Andy and Elephant Rescue Park for a wonderful day!
Thanks for your kind words 🙏

    Real Rescue Park
Was amazing to see these rescued animals and learn about their stories. This place is a genuine rescue park, and uses your visit to find the super-high amounts required to take proper care of these beautiful creatures. You can feed them, pat and hug them, and walk with the elephants down to the water before bathing them. It is special. The local lunch was tasty, and the team were A+ from pick-up through to drop-off at the hotel. Highly recommended for anyone who cares about the plight of Thailand's elephants.
On behalf of my team, I want to say thanks for your visit. We will try our best to look after these elephants and make all visitors happy every time. All of my team have the same attitude towards elephants like you. To make them happy is our job and to support us is your kindness.

    Incredible elephant experience
Today we went to the elephant rescue pain in Chaing Mai Our family which included 2 kids age 8-10 were picked up and dropped off by a shuttle bus. Our tour guide Dew gave us some information along the way to meet the elephants Few has an incredible wealth of knowledge about the beautiful gentle giants When we arrived to the park we were welcomed and changed into clothes that made it easier for the elephants to know and trust us. Throughout the day we were told about how to care for the elephants and to respect their areas. We had multiple opportunities for feeding and to see the elephants in their natural habitat. We had a fantastic lunch that was prepared fresh by the family (Mahut) Then we got to go for a walk up the mountain and feed the elephants before we went for a swim to wash and brush them. The day was such an amazing opportunity for families to be a part of the Thai family and learn so much more about the elephants. Thankyou Dew and the team for taking us on such an adventure Our kids had the most incredible day being a part of the elephant world
Thanks for your feedback. We appreciated to provide this great experience to everyone. When you decided to do the tour with us,that was a direct support to these adorable giants. It’s fair for you and for elephants. We have you good experience while they got delicious food, respect and good care from you. Welcome everyone to witness by yourself.

Not to be missed. Best elephant experience in Thailand.
Absolutely fabulous. Picked up and dropped off. The park is wonderful to the elephants. They are true rescue animals. We followed the rules closely and had a perfect experience. Getting in the pond to wash the beasts was the highlight.
Thanks so much for your kind cooperation during the tour with us. That made your trip unforgettable. We hope that it was such a great experience in your life time. Regards, Mr.Kid

    Amazing
What an amazing experience. Pick up at my hotel, transported to the Park and given plenty of instruction for what to expect. The tour it'self was full of information with time to enjoy every aspect. Including a nice lunch and transport return to hotel. Highly recommend!
It’s nice to hear positive feedback from you. We have been working very hard to save and help these poor elephants from mistreatment and accident. For this reason we try to educate people to understand about elephant’s status as much as we can. When you have been here,we hope that you can pass this message to others. Thanks so much! Mr.Kid

We spent a wonderful day at the rescue park. We enjoyed preparing food for them and observing them go on with their daily life. The park is doing an amazing job of rescuing and taking care of the animals. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The food we had for lunch was very nice too. We enjoyed meeting new friends. I highly recommend the park.

    Truly Remarkable Experience
Learned a lot about these Asian elephants rescued from logging, circuses or ride places. Other tourists seemed conflicted about elephant experiences as they are varied and numerous. This one focuses on the rehabilitation and care of domestic elephants from unfortunate settings. They are humanely cared for and we were well instructed on how to approach and touch them for our safety and theirs. We were allowed to watch them in their setting and they were never forced to do anything. They seemed very comfortable and it was a terrific experience.

A great day with the Elephants.
You pay a little more for this place but it is worth it. Great staff, and a very chill day just walking with the elephants and watching them interact. Plenty of time to take pictures with the animals. No riding, no gimmicks just well treated animals and a staff who cares (many are local volunteers). Help support them in their rescue and care mission. Lastly-a very tasty lunch was seved. :)

Mr We our Thai guide ably assisted by Steve a volunteer from England, gave our small group a brief education on these gentle giants. Mr We, regaled a story of a female elephant called Jeab.
Jeab was a rescued from the elephant riding industry. He tells the sad and engaging tale of how the elephant rescue team tried everything to save her, but she tragically died as a result of injury’s she has sustained from the brutal treatment of her previous “ owners”.
A moving account of the love this elephant company has for these gentle beasts.
Exploited elephants from the logging , circus and riding industries have finally found a home and enjoy a safe and friendly environment cared for by their mahouts.
The rescue of these animals is not a cheap affair especially for the Thai’s. To buy an exploited mistreated elephant can cost between 1 million to 4 million Baht.
The rescue centre is reliant on donations , merchandise and tourists to fund the park.
The reviews below will tell you about this experience with the beautiful mammals, and the connection you feel for them as sentient beings.
I echo all the wonderful reviews and had an amazing time feeding, walking and washing the elephants.
As the newer generations become more environmentally conscious and rightly so, places like this elephant rescue park will begin to play a major role in ensuring the remaining elephants of Thailand are cared for and treated with respect and dignity as they should have been millennia ago.
If in Chiang Mia do yourself and the elephants a favour, go and say hi, buy a shirt , buy the photos and return home , knowing in some small way you helped in their rescue . The elephants are happy 🐘🐘🐘😃🇹🇭🙏

We had the pleasure of doing a private tour at the Elephant Rescue Park with Andy as our guide. We booked online, but I ended up reaching out via email to book our tour.

We got to feed 6 of the elephants bananas and 2 of them chose to go on a walk with us after!

Each of the elephants at the park have a live in caretaker paired with them, and they sleep in huts next to the elephants. We wore the red outfits so the elephants know that we are there to feed them, walk with them and bathe them! Our guide Andy was so knowledgeable and it was fascinating to see the elephants walk around doing whatever they wanted. They both had very different personalities. They eat so much!!! The older elephant tore down a whole banana tree and ate it along the walk lol. The younger one was scratching her body on anything she could find and eventually rolled around on the ground after we bathed her 🤣. Our guide said elephants only lay down when they feel safe, so it was so cute to see her being so playful. They are like big dogs!!!

After the other 2 elephants walked back, we helped put herbs on an injured elephant that had a knee/leg injury from being ridden for many years. They boil herbs and medicine and then have to lightly 'whip' the wet rag with herbs onto the swollen limb.

This was one of the best experiences of my life, and I'm so glad we found a park that creates a safe space for the elephants to play and heal while creating an enjoyable experience for visitors. 🤍🐘

Another huge shout out to our guide Andy for making this experience memorable in many ways, including taking beautiful candid photos of us with the elephants that we will look back on forever.

It is clear that the people who work at this park have a genuine love for caring for these elephants. If you are researching multiple elephant parks to book with, I urge you to go with Elephant Rescue Park. You will not regret it!! And another piece of advice -- there are a lot of copy cat parks who try to trick you into thinking they are like the elephant rescue park, but they rent their elephants and some even let you ride the elephants. That is not good for the elephants, so be careful!

We visited the Elephant Rescue Park for a half day tour with our 2 children (aged 3 and 5). We were warmly greeted at our hotel by the fantastic volunteers - Julie and Steve. We then travelled by minibus to the park. We sat with coffee for a short time while Steve and Julie taught us more about Elephants and they were great at involving and engaging our children. After changing into the clothes provided we fed 3 of the Elephants and then went on a short walk through the jungle. We had an opportunity to bath the Elephants with the support of their carers. We finished the tour with a lovely homemade meal before heading back to our hotel. There was also an option to pay a small fee for photos to be taken throughout the trip. I would highly recommend this tour if you want to support the park and learn more about Elephants.

I’m just back this afternoon from visiting Elephant Rescue Park and it was a truly memorable and amazing experience.

My wife and I were picked up from our hotel by our friendly guide Wei (I’m sure I’m spelling that wrong). In our lovely air conditioned mini-van, Wei spoke to our group about Elephant Park Rescue, what they’re about and what to expect from the day. He also gave us some brief history on the life of elephants within Thailand and the surrounding areas. He was very engaging and informative.

Upon arrival you instantly get a feel of warmth and love. You’re greeted by all the members of the rescue park and made feel very welcome.
Water, a sun hat and a uniform (plus boots) are provided. While you’re all ready the various guides and volunteers speak (Pong and Steve) with you further on what the park is about and how they came to be there. You get a real sense of family and care from them.

A short walk from where you start you get to meet the 6 amazing elephants that they have on site. You also get to meet their handlers/minders. You get to see how much they care about their elephants and elephants in general.

You get an amazing introduction to each elephant by getting to feed them bananas and corn. They’re all so excitable to be fed and begin their morning with their new guests.

After this you get the privilege to accompany the elephants through the forest, up some hills, down some hills and towards a river. In between you have so many opportunities to touch, pat, stroke and observe the elephants as they gently make their way. You also get the chance to ask the guides/volunteers some questions or just chat in general.

When you reach the river you can observe as the elephants bathe and play. You’re then offered the chance to help bathe them. It’s truly an amazing experience to be standing next to one of these amazing animals as they’re sat in the water happily allowing you to scrub them and throw water all over them. My favourite elephant was Mae Noi. She was amazing to be around. A gentle giant.”

A very generous amount of food is given for your lunch as the half day is winding down. This is great to get to chat to the other people on the trip with you and unwind to take it all in.

I was truly humbled by this experience and it is something I’ll never forget. Ever.

If you’re in Chiang Mai and want to visit elephants then Elephant Rescue Park is for you.

Thank you,
Gav

Thank you for your fantastic and well considered review. We too are very humbled when we realise how much all of our effort to give our elephants the love, care and respect they so deserve is truly appreciated by our guests. All of the staff work very hard to create a welcoming, safe and peaceful home for our elephants. We believe that it is important to provide information to visitors, not just about our Park, but elephants in general and the plight of the Asian elephant. Our Guides, and the two Volunteers from the UK, are always more than happy to share their knowledge and experiences. The interaction you experience with feeding our elephants, observing their natural behaviour whilst walking with them and finally bathing them is amazing. Mae Noi is the matriarch of our small family and she has the respect of all of the other elephants. We are so pleased that you and your wife will never forget this experience and thank you for recommending Elephant Rescue Park. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future. Thank you Gav.

My husband and I visited Elephant Rescue park in February 2022 via their full day package found on their website. It was the highlight of our Thailand trip! Every detail from the hotel pick-up/ drop off, visiting the Elephant PooPooPaper Park, to hanging out with the park's recused elephants was spectacular. Even the homemade lunch was great, the best pad thai we had in Thailand! Every member of the team was very welcoming. We learned a lot and had a lot of fun. The highlights of the day were feeding bananas to the elephants and giving them a bath. It was very peaceful, and just an incredible experience. I highly recommend visiting Elephant Rescue Park!

With over 100 elephant parks around Chiang Mai you know this one is one to make a difference. From the very first moment you feel the passion of the staff, the mission to actually rescue elephants and not to keep them as an investment and the vast knowledge all around their well being.
All elephants have a "life before" and you see that in scars. We were very cautious before about any activity related to wild animals but this park convinced us that this work is very much worth doing. Great how the park cares.
The program is well chosen. You follow the elephants on their daily routines, can join them in having snacks and on their tracks to eat/ drink and have a bath. It's up to you and the elephants how close you relate which also means that some fancy green will be more important than you until the gentle giant was able to eat it.
The staff is very friendly, caring, professional and gives you a great experience.
All in all it's a wonderful experience and we recommend strongly to choose wisely a park that actually cares about elephants and not only presents them - this one does.

I visited on the morning half day program on boxing day and it was one of the best presents I ever had. My guide Sam took the time to explain everything about the elephants and their natural habitat. We fed them, walked with them and bathed them. It was a richly rewarding experience that I would recommend to any animal lover. Kudos to founder Kid and his team at ERPK. God bless their heart and give them the determination to continue doing a great job of caring for these charming, intelligent, wonderful creatures amid difficult times of this pandemic.

I've done some researches before selecting Elephant Rescue Park. Guest numbers are kept low there. Only 2 rounds a day so Elephants didn't have to walk down so often. Total 7 elephants were there including 5 yo to 30+yo. We wore traditional Thai costume and took half day with elephants including walking up and down hills, feeding and most interesting was bathing them in small lake.Water was clean and it was so fun! They provided complementary lunch. it was simple and natural. We paid 300baht for the professional photos and it was so worth. I were so moved by them as the owner worked so hard to provide the comfortable facility to the recused elephants. His team was so friendly and treating the elephants very well like family.

Thank you for your review. We are always delighted when our visitors advise us they have completed a lot of research before selecting Elephant Rescue Park. The walk our visitors go on with our elephants is good in several ways. Firstly, walking up and down hills is good for the elephants’ digestion. Secondly, it helps keep their weight down and like all humans and animals, exercise is good for their well being. Thirdly, walking helps keep the elephant’s toe nails in check - if they didn’t walk they would be susceptible to nail infections. Finally, and very importantly, it provides our elephants with the opportunity to play, forage and relax whilst our visitors observe them. When the Park is quiet, our Mahouts will do the same walk with their elephants and no visitors for these exact reasons. We are delighted you were moved by your visit and found our team very friendly and witnessed how we treat our elephants like family.

This is THE place to go for elephant experiences near Chiang Mai. My parents and I very much enjoyed the half day tour. The day started with an easy pickup in a luxury van at our hotel (137 Pillars) in the morning, and after a few stops to pick up 9 other travelers we were on our way to the Rescue Park. Our tour guide, Andy, gave us a great overview of the city as we drove through it. He memorized everyone’s names on the trip and provided interesting and funny commentary on the way up.

The entire experience was extremely well organized. We were handed unique outfits (which made for some great photo ops!) to change into and we’re given some background on what makes this park different from the surrounding ones. You can truly see how this park is incredibly humane and takes very good care of its 10 elephants, giving each good attention, space, and saving them from the logging and riding industries.

We also got the photo package, which was well worth it. We had over 100 photos taken of us as we fed, walked with, and washed the elephants. I would recommend the half day tour, as I don’t think the full day tour provides a lot of additional experiences and we felt that a half day was plenty of time with the elephants.

This will truly be an unforgettable experience for anyone visiting Chiang Mai. Everyone was so kind and personable, and we met so many other great people through this experience. Thank you for doing the great work and offering the best elephant day we could possibly have!

Elephant Rescue Park was a fantastic experience. Mr. Kid, the owner, really cares for the elephants and it shows through his staff, volunteers (Steve and Julie), and the elephants! We experienced a half day private tour and it was definitely an experience to remember. Mr. Kid was able to book us the evening before arrival and even arranged for two English speaking educated guides to assist us! Steve and Julie did an excellent job explaining things to us all the way to and from the park. They followed along during our visit with the elephants and the Mahoots, further explaining things and even taking photos for us!! We can't thank them enough. Mr. Kid joined us during the tour and explained what can only be described as true passion and dedication to rescuing these GIANT gentle creatures! We especially loved that this establishment does not encourage nor allow riding of the elephants. We chose this park specifically for that reason. Please go and visit this park when in Chiang May!! This is an experience you won't want to miss!! The Elephant Rescue Park desperately needs visitors and or donations to the park! If you can't make it to Thailand due to Civid-Please consider donating any amount of money towards these gentle giants care on their website!

Thank you so much for your review. We are delighted you had a fantastic experience at Elephant Rescue Park. It was my personal pleasure to be your guide and look after you, supported by my team and our two English Volunteers. I am so pleased Steve and Julie did an excellent job explaining things to you. Their passion, shared by everyone in our team, and in-depth experience of elephants, enables them to provide educational talks to our visitors, share their experience and answer questions - education is so important to us all at Elephant Rescue Park. We set-up as a ‘no riding’ camp, something we are very proud of. It is very heartening and encouraging to us all when our visitors recognise this. Thank you so much for your recommendation to visit the Park or to make donations on-line. We are truly grateful and hope to see you again in the future.
