Perfect place if you want to run out from crowded beaches around island. It's very long with great sand and you will have planes just under your head because airport starts just near this beach. Currents is strong, so be careful.

We were staying at the Marriott Vacation Club and loved strolling along this sandy beach alongside the Andaman Sea. In August the sea is high and rough and swimming isn't recommended but this is still a wonderful sight.

The Mai Khao Beach is really one of the most beautiful beaches in Phuket. This Beach stretches for miles and is very little frequented, partially deserted, both in High Season (I was there in April/May) and now in Low Season (Rainy season in August). You...More

Hi Gavin, apologies for the late reply, Mai Khao is really far from Patong beach. It is easily an hour drive away. Mai Khao is a place really away from the crowd, with a long stretch of beach to enjoy but it is definitely... More
