Amazing and scenic ride! Second only to the scenic north of Vietnam. You must do it. Very easy. The roads are not difficult and are generally in good condition. But beware, you will come across some busy roads with heavy traffic (around Hue). A guide is not needed at all. In fact, I recommend you do it by yourself. You... More

The Hai Van Pass really is spectacular but just be aware the ride from Hue to Hoi An is about 20% mountain pass and 80% highway or city. Not recommended for a first time rider. I would recommend Ha Giang province over this pass as the scenery surpasses this and the riding is far more pleasurable.

As roads go, this is a good one! Riding it on a motorbike (Top Gear style) is a lot of fun. When we went the weather was very cloudy so the views weren't that great but I'm sure on a clear day they're spectacular. Not to be missed.

We had to make a decision to either go by train from Hue to Hoi An or by car or bus. Proves on trip adviser suggested $55-80 for a car, or c. $23 per reps. For three people sharing a car . We got a mini bus for four of with full luggage for $100 so we thought that was... More

After a very winding route to the top there's the remains of the fortress that is/was on the boundary between two historic kingdoms. The view from there back to Da Nang is tremendous. These remains are very interesting to see, highly photogenic. Then there's the ubiquitous stalls with souvenirs and food. While we were there the cloud closed in n... More

We stopped by for only 10 minutes during transfer from Hoi An to Hue. Wished we could have stayed longer to explore the area to take more pictures. It was a good day with pretty clear visibility. The views were great! On the way back to Danang, we took a train ride from Hue. The views were obscured due to... More

Being a motorcyclist Hai Van Pass is a must do ride. I had the chance twice, recently, and was not disappointed. As you exit Da Nang along the coast road you start climbing the pass immediately. The road is predominately 2 lanes wide, although on some of the steeper u-bends there is additional run-off for the heavy vehicles. The scenery... More

We read about the scenic Hai Van Pass tour reviews from TripAdvisor when we planned our trip to Danang-Hoi An. So glad to make it part of our itinerary especially on my husband's birthday! Thanks to our best tour driver, Thao from Tommy Tours, Hoi An who not only drives safe but informative and ever so pleasant as he took... More
