About
In its heyday, Dalat Station boasted three arrivals and departures daily. The French built the railway station itself, while the zigzagging tracks were planned and implemented by the Swedish, experts in tricky terrain.

Yes, it's an old train station with an old engine and some old carriages, but really it's nothing special.
The train ride has no view to make it worthwhile. Just Grab to the pagoda, which is far cheaper.

Historical site. Took the 30min train trip to the middle of somewhere to see a big pagoda...not much of history and classic train experience. Cheap option with reserved seats but nothing impressive to see along the way.

Very underwhelming experience. We arrived and walked through the station (full of stalls selling the same usual crap) to see the train which was very unimpressive. Luckily we stopped by on the way back from elsewhere so didn’t waste any time going out of the way to see it.

The train station needs some love, it really isn't much to look at inside or outside. There is one old train which you cannot climb onto and the other train is currently in use. It is ok for a few photos but I wouldn't make it a priority.

The parked trains are really cool and look like the Polar Express (or Hogwarts express) and the whole place is very cute. I've been twice and kids (aged 3 and 4) love it. However, the train is never running when I'm there -either I'm just unlucky or it'd be good if they advertised this better

And it didn't disappoint even though the trains weren't running because of COVID-19 we still got to see magnificent examples of carriages from a bygone era. I definitely will make a trip back when the trains are back running again.

The Da Lat-Thap Cham Railway was started in 1908, about ten years before being conceived by the French. Given the challenges of the mountainous landscapeconstruction proceeded slowly and took 24 years to complete. Being able to read a bit of the colorful history was enlightening. The train does do a tourist run to a village just a few kilometers away, but due to COVID19 it was.not running when I visited. They expect to resume activity in a few weeks. Adults and children were enjoying having their photos taken on the cars, locomotive and caboose. There is an open coffee and souvenirs shop and several vendors. The station has a nice park an on the grounds is The Choco Cafe with delicious chocolate drinks and pastries as well as Vietnamese Chocolate for purchase. Very enjoyable.(If the train was running, I would have.given it five stars.)

We wandered up to the station, which is only a 10 minute walk up from the lake, on our final day, and were glad that we had. It costs 5,000VND to go in which is very reasonable as it goes towards the upkeep of the station. Train enthusiasts shouldn't miss it, but even if trains aren't your thing,t's worth a visit to appreciate the building's architecture and to take a look at the old carriages and steam engine rusting out back.

I'd been so excited to go to the station as I love trains. But, since there were so few visitors, the train wasn't running. So, in the end, I didn't really get the full experience. The station is charming though. It was worth a photo. But, I guess I'l have to go back for the full experience!

City of flowers, coffee, strawberries and wine. Nice climate, refreshingly cooler than Saigon. Please do visit the Crazy house, Maze bar, French style railway station and ride the cable car to the Truc Lam monastery.

You pay inky 5 kVND, equally 20 cents. Train is running for short distance between DALAT and Pumat only. Few times per day. You have to check time schedule
