Ha Long Bay, in the Gulf of Tonkin, includes some 1,600 islands and islets, forming a spectacular seascape of limestone pillars. Because of their precipitous nature, most of the islands are uninhabited and unaffected by a human presence. The site's outstanding scenic beauty is complemented by its great biological interest. The outstanding value of the property is centered around the drowned limestone karst landforms, displaying spectacular pillars with a variety of coastal erosional features such as arches and caves which form a majestic natural scenery. The repeated regression and transgression of the sea on the limestone karst over geological time has produced a mature landscape of clusters of conical peaks and isolated towers which were modified by sea invasion, adding an extra elemant to the process of lateral undercutting of the limstone towers and islands.

We were recommended to book an overnight cruise through HALONG BAY CRUISES NO LIMIT website and our cruise was turned out excellent in all ways. They picked us up from our hotel in Hanoi and treated us like special guests during our three days and two nights tour. We loved cruise activities: kayaking, bamboo boat trip, taichi, caves, islands as... More

We visited Halong Bay on a 3 day cruise. Really glad we did it as it is an interesting natural wonder. But it is very crowded with boats and tourists. We were told there are 500 tour boats in the bay consisting of overnight and day cruises. You don't get too many views of the bay without tour boats in... More

This is a must see if you're ever in the northern part of Vietnam. We chartered a small cruise for the day and it was there highlight of our trip.

This is truly a magnificent spot and worth the long drive to get here. Unfortunately, there are too many big boats spoiling the ambiance. Most annoying was one large boat that had its name all in lights - it seemed more appropriate to Las Vegas than a natural wonder. If I could have read the name, I'd write it to... More

The only reason it's not a 5 star is the rubbish that is seen floating occasionally around the bay. It's such a shame and we were tempted to collect what we could on our kayak trip. That said, the bay is spectacular and must be explored on a multi-night cruise. We loved it and will be recommending it to everyone.... More

Even after having experienced much of the incredible beauty this country and others had to offer, this was incredible and relaxing. The cave themselves were a beautiful sight, however for me personally it was somewhat spoiled by the illuminated colorful lights, for they had lost their authenticity. The boat cruise was relaxing to embrace and enjoy the beauty of this... More

Ha Long bay is very beautiful. Especially in the sunshine, which we finally got on the final morning of our 3 day/2 night trip. It's a "must do" when in northern Vietnam, despite the 3 1/2 hour drive (including 30 minute rest stop) from Hà Nội. We are not the sort of people who go on cruises, but it was... More

Wow, what a place, absolutely breathe taking. I m just amazed at how peaceful it feels once out in the bay and the sights just cannot be done justice with a camera, pictures just cannot tell the actual picture. Over night is an experience I will never forget, such clear dark sky leave the stars glowing. I can't put into... More
