We were a group off a visiting cruise ship, and organised our own charter instead of using the ships tour groups. There are many many groups offering boat trips out to see the bay. We paid $35US which we thought reasonable for 4 hours. However, we got the slowest boat ever! and we found that all the boats do the... More

Our group was booked on this tour and I was really looking forward to it - a day on Halong Bay - and I was not disappointed. A very interesting bus trip from Hanoi, passing through many villages and passing many rice paddies, we arrived at Halong Bay (a UNESCO World Heritage site) about mid-morning. We boarded the boat and... More

We booked this trip before we left and it was the most amazing experience ever. From start to finish we had the most amazing 2 days on the boat where we met some lovely people. The staff were absolutely amazing and so accommodating to everybody's needs. In the 2 days we did limestone cave exploring, kayaking, squid fishing, vegetable carving,... More

We got to the caves late in the afternoon and then... More

What a beautiful place to spend the night on a junk. Unfortunately it was overcast when I was there but still did not take away from the beauty of the area This is a must see place if you are in Vietnam. A UNESCO world heritage site.

Please please please be careful who you book these tours with! Do not book off of people at the wharf or marina, the guys walking around with brochures are all scammers. So are the people in the little travel agencies in Hanoi! They show you indochinas brochures and promise this and that, and you get to the boat and it's... More
