Hanoi Cooking Class

A very interesting experience. Learning to buy and cook authentic Vietnamese food. Great guide and chef. Designed to share the meal we prepared with the chef in the restaurant.

My husband and myself took this cooking class during our recent stay in Hanoi. We found the whole experience fantastic. Its one on one from start to finish and both the guys we had were excellent Being a chef myself i love to take cooking classes whenever we are overseas as it gives you a fantastic insight into local food... Our guide Thu Nyugen was a saucy sweet lady and she had brought us a wonderful Vietnamese culinary experience for a morning. The visit to the Hom market was fun and Thu was very knowledgable about the different fresh ingredients sold there. The cooking class inside the restaurant was a truly authentic experience and a very good way to get... More

Had a great morning with Highway 4 last week. The market trip, the cooking experience and then the lunch that followed made for a really top experience all round. We had our kids with us - two girls aged 7 and 9 and our guide and chef was patient, super friendly and just fun to be with. Highly recommend this... More

We were hands on preparing our lunch after checking out the ingredients at the local market. We didn't actually do the shopping that day as the ingredients were being cleaned and prepared that morning while we shopped. The two chefs who worked with us were friendly and fun and a true pleasure to meet. We enjoyed our traditional Vietnamese lunch.

Right from the start we had nothing but praise for Thu & Wine (Sorry not correct spelling) & the crew at Highway 4. As a couple that don't enjoy huge group tours we thoroughly enjoyed the one-on-one service without the clingy hovering that can sometimes happen on these tours. The cyclo drivers were polite & aware of our safety on... More

After a trip to the local market with the restaurant manager, who spoke excellent English, we donned our chef aprons and hats, rolled up our sleeves and got stuck into cooking 4 courses. The food was really interesting and different from other classes we have done in Vietnam. The staff were every knowledgable and we tried some new foods and... More

While the cooking class itself may or may not be good, the staff and the booking procedure is absolutely not. Contacted them through the email adress on their website to ask for availability more than a week in advance, no response at all. Once on site, I went over there to ask in person. Staff member has to ask his... More

Son, our guide, is a really nice guy and we had fun chatting with him so I feel bad speaking poorly of this experience. BUT, the class was not a good cooking class. Son is not a cook, which he even said. Two of the three dishes weren't good. One was completely inedible. There was lots of waiting around as... More
