Though not quite the same since a devastating fire in 1994, this famous market is nevertheless a landmark trading post.

Crowded stalls, cheap junky type items that go on for days. The old quarter has much more charm and selection. Indoors, but no air conditioning and very hot.

We arrived there after a long walk and much hassle from street vendors along the way. The place is packed with cheap tat. Definitely not for tourists. We left after 5 mins to walk back to Hoan Kiem Lake, and enjoy a lovely lunch at...More

Very busy, very packed with all sorts of stuff, not a lot room to move about, I wanted to buy something but the stall holders were to busy on their phones, so we left and bought from shop, not really a tourists place to go

It was very hot and busy here in the summer but we bought quite a few souvenirs. Do not be afraid to haggle on any price given. Even our 12 year old son got adept at it.

A massive area with huge amounts of textiles, clothing, watches etc for sale. I assume it is mostly Chinese knock offs or cheap Chinese goods. No pressure to buy - in fact they are utterly disinterest and aimed at wholesale purchases - so you can...More

First of all, I am rating this place as a tourist attraction, not as a hub of commerce. The place is packed with business, and I do not wish to imply at all that it does not serve its purpose. The reality is that it...More

I’ve been to Vietnam many times, and majorly of them in Ho Chi Min city. So I knew that in Vietnam you can buy a lot of nice things for cheap price, especially kids wear/ shoes and sport/beach stuff. So I was extremely excited to...More

Hot cramp uncomfortable place. Good for experiencing Vietnam wholesale industry scene but not good for retail. The shop owners don't wish to deal with retail tourist.

This market is focused on things locals need, not tourism. After much searching we did find 2 stalls that had some souvenirs, but the selection wasn't what we were after. We had better luck walking in the streets of the old quarter.

Good place to walk around and find what you need. And remember to haggle for better price too. Location-wise, it is a bit further from the Old Quarter. Recommend to get a Grab or local cab. Can be pretty hot inside as we were travelling...More

100% of clothing and shoes in Dong Xuan market is imported from China. Dirty cheap price comes with unexceptionably low quality. If you want some better quality and made in Vietnam clothing, try some Made In Vietnam shops... More
