Lots to see

Lots of shopping and food. We enjoyed walking around and enjoyed it in all its busyness. Highly recommend taking a walk down to the lake.

Looks the same as every other area in Hanoi but has more traffic and people. Spent some the time dodging motorbikes as you have to walk on the roads as the footpaths are used as parking lots. Overated if you ask me.

I've been to Hanoi once before and I still could not get enough of it. Old Quarter is just too much fun. There's still a lot of food I haven't tried yet and more stuff I need to buy.

Walked around the old quarter so many times and so several. Res things every single day. Loved sitting out an eating lunch/dinner and drinking coffee. I'm not certain I could ever get tired of Hanoi and the old quarter

We stayed in the area. It's really good. The streets closes on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings for the night market and cultural performances. There's food everywhere and everything is within walking distance of this place. The architecture of this place is crazy amazing. It is literally the 'old French quarter'. Beware of street vendors during the evenings. When purchasing... More

A warren of streets packed with traffic, mainly mopeds. Loads of bars and restaurants, street food and ambulante traders. Beer corner is the place to be crammed tables load music and everywhere a party atmosphere. Just go, nobody can describe it. At the weekend there is street market.

We stayed at the Hanoi Pearl Hotel and just loved the village feel here. No hassle, and the Vietnamese people just fantastic. If you are looking for an extremely good spa then Urban Oasis Spa in Hang Hanh Street is worth a visit.

We stayed in the old quarter for access to good restaurants, shopping and for transfer to Ha Long Bay. The silk and silver roads are easily accessible and plenty of good restaurants.

Really enjoyed staying in the old quarter. Was here for about 2 weeks. So much great food and walkable fun bars. Really liked the locals we met at the lake who were practicing their english with my girlfriend and I. Highly recommend staying here for at least a few nights.

Stay here and it is only by walking distance to the tourists' points. You can find great cheap food too here.
