The old quarter is a must when visiting Hanoi. Lots of places to eat, drink and shop. Good fun in the evening / weekend if you go to Beer Corner, lots of locals and tourists.

Spent most of my time in old quarter in Hanoi. Such a vibrant area. Great coffee. Antique stores. Weekend market which has absolutely everything of the same thing. 🤘Cool spot if your looking to meet fellow expats and travelers

My partner and I went on a self guided Lonely Planet walking tour through the old quarter during October 2016. Without GPS to guide us, of course we got lost numerous times, but that was half the fun. Tiny streets, laneways, smells of spices, marketplaces,...More

Situated right in the middle of everything. Buzzy busy shops bars restaurants. Walk or cheap cab ride to most places.

Any type of motor would not stop for people and not really much of the walk way. There are no mid-ranging dining available here only hole in the wall.

There's loads of places for a beer. There's a couple of places right on the lakeside and plenty of places overlooking the lake. Lots of cafes/bars/ restaurants around the streets.
