The museum shows the life of some of the many different ethnic groups living in Vietnam. It is really well done, with lots of information, exhibits like music instruments, tools and clothes, pictures and videos of traditional ceremonies, and much more. In the outside area it is able to see and visit traditional houses. This is a really good museum... More

We took a Vietnamese expatriot to this museum and they were fascinated. Inside and out, there are many cultural attractions, well signed and displayed. For the visitor, it is easy to while away some time; for the locals, it is worth several visits.

The best part of the museum is the outside space, where they have some traditional vietnamese houses. The inside was a bit boring.

Toured the houses outside first and then went into the cooler museum . I found the exploration of the different ethnic groups of Vietnam fascinating

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the museum and learnt much about the many different ethnic groups that make up Vietnam. The displays are thoughtful and well designed and have multiple language descriptors. We especially liked the outdoors section that includes houses and other buildings from the villages and also a water puppet show. It's a bit out in the... More

Highly recommended. They have real life structures from several of the ancient and original cultures which you can touch for yourself.

One of the best museums I have ever visited. Well laid out with plenty of information in English. Learnt a great deal about the many different ethnic groups within Vietnam. In the gardens you have the opportunity to enter different types of housing. Located on the outskirts of Hanoi but well worth the taxi fare. Excellent gift shop.

The museum contains informative displays of clothing and other artefacts of ethic groups within Vietnam. But don't miss the houses outside in the grounds, each one constructed by craftsmen from the respective ethnic group using traditional materials and techniques. Some beautiful work here as well as ethnographic interest.

We loved this museum, and actually went back a 2nd day because we ran out of time to see everything. The main building houses multiple floors of photos, house models, textiles. The best part, though, are the full-size houses in a large compound out back that you can walk through. It really brings the village experience to life. There's another... More
