Before we say this is just another temple, we must know the legend behind this so we get to appreciate the Turtle Temple. It is located within the Hoan Kiem lake and not accessible.

First, learn the legend. Then you will understand who and why built it, and maybe you will understand a bit more about this nation's fights. The tower itself was built in a style, what you cannot find elsewhere in Vietnam.

You cant even see it clearly. Architecture style looks pretty similar to other pagodas or temples around the Old Quarter

I didn't know much about this site but the legend of the tower told by a student I met when wandering around Hoan Kiem lake. Nice view and friendly locals. Strolling around the lake is a good choice to visit it.

Didn't know about the history and origin of this tower when we visited. I recommend to read about the history and origin first to appreciate it better. Otherwise it is just another old building in the middle of a lake.

The tower is in the middle of a large lake and not that easy to see. I didn't see any turtles when I was in Hanoi.
