You do not need to join tour to visit Bat Trang. we took a taxi from old quarter and cost about Vnd160000. The taxi driver alight us at the front part of Bat Trang. It has more individual shops or company and not so touristic as the Ceramic Village, which it will takes us another 15-20 minutes walks. Things are... More

Bat Trang is like no place I have ever seen. The ceramics are very impressive and endless. That said, it becomes a bit overwhelming with all the tourists, and very hard on a warm day because the only shade is inside the shops. It's about a 40 minute drive from central Hanoi. If you have extra time I would definitely... More

Our guide took us to this village during lunch. Hint: everything closes in Vietnam during lunch. According to the description of this tour you are to see ceramics being made and have an opportunity to make something yourself. This did not happen. This village is just shop after shop of ceramic products for sale. I can find much nicer ceramic... More

Our family took a walk through the village. Lots of variety and beautiful pieces of pattern. If I wasn't travelling with 2 kids and duffle bags o would have bought a few pieces. We walked through a factory to see all the different processes they use to make their pieces. Very friendly and no one was pushing or yelling to... More

We enjoyed the village and seeing all of the different styles of work that are created here. Really gives you a sense of where it all comes form when you see it in the states.

Very interesting village to visit. Here you can see, not only all the items they make out of ceramic, but also the whole process van start to finish. Everything is done by hand and watching the people paint the pots by hand is absolutely amazing to see - very steady hands and good eyesight! Worth a visit!

We have already visited the village twice, both times with small children. Walking through the village there is so much to see for everybody. The children went for the animals, the grown ups more for the vases and tiles. Our favorite store is "Delicious Ceramics" on Giang Cao Street where we could paint our own tiles.

Bat Trang is recognized in Vietnam for its beautiful ceramics. It is less than one hour travel by bus from Hanoi. Before reaching the village, the bus will take you to EcoVillage, a posh residential area located within a few meters away from where the ceramics are being sold. Instead of booking with your hotel, I suggest that you explore... More
