Though still called Hotel de Ville locally, this is no longer a hotel. This landmark building is actually The People's Committee, a government building with no public access.

Walk the wide pedestrian walkway toward the People's Community Building. A very impressive structure. We did not attempt to go inside. We prefer to walk the nearby streets and mingle with the very friendly people. We did not experience any anti-American sentiments. I was approached...More

I was simply amazed by this building. I didn't expect it to be as big or as beautiful as it was. Photos can't do it justice because it's too hard to fit the entire photo in one frame! Definitely a must see, purely for its...More

It was really good. There's a walking street in front of the building. It's very happenning at night time.

I visited this place last May, around 3pm. There were guards and they did not let me get in. Later I discovered that public access is banned. So take photos from the outside. The architecture is still pretty.

This building is in a very popular area. There are beautiful gardens in front, also statue of Ho Chi Minh. Great in evening for a stroll, or shops all around during the day.

The building is modest but nice to walk around. The many rooms including the offices and living space of past leaders offer a wonderful peek into the history of south Vietnam and how its government worked before the Vietcong took over.
