The People’s Committee Building is a government building, and unfortunately is not open to the public. The building was first constructed as a hotel by French architects, however now serves as city hall. It is located at the end of Nguyen Hue Street, and makes an outstanding photo opportunity at night when the building is lit up.

This is more commonly known as the Ho Chi Minh City Hall. The hall was built during the French occupation between 1902–1908 by architect Paul Gardès and following the French colonial architectural style, which is quite similar to the british.
If you are in district 1, you will not miss this building as it is located right in the city center with many key attractions nearby such as the Opera theater, Cafe apartment and the busiest walking street, Nguyen Hue.
At night, the building is beautifully lighted and looks grand and majestic and in the day time, it looks so different and more formal. I prefer the night view!
It is a government official building and so it's not opened to the public and it does serves as a good photo-stop from opposite the main entrance. It's lovely but the traffic is always heavy and quite difficult to get a good shot without the motorbikes in particular!!!

The building looks fantastic in the evening. Many people in the square. Good to take photos. The walking street in front of the committee building is worth walking and exploring. Sometimes there are street performers.

This old French colonial city hall was modelled on the Hotel de Ville in Paris and built between 1902 and 1908.
It is now the seat of the People's Committee Building and stands as a reminder of French colonial rule of French Indochina.
You can't go in but it is well worth admiring it from the statue of Ho Chi Minh himself

i visited this area last year in Nov, that time i had a 9 days trip to HCM, actually, i passed here many times, but took pics here twice. cuz this area is vey busy in HCM, you will have chance to pass by it if you come to the city center. the building is situated at the intersection of Nguyen Hue Boulevard and Le Thanh Ton street and can be easily reached from any part of HCM city. this building was converted into a city hall under the government of South Vietnam. Since 1975, its Renaissance-style city hall bears a striking resemblance to the one in Paris. in front of the building, there is a small garden ,and a bronze statue of Ho Chi Minh erected there. heard that the building finally opened to the public, but must book a place in advance. will visit the building next time for sure.

This attraction is a short walk from the Saigon Notre Dame Museum. about 5-7minutes away. Along the way are huge pots with beautiful flowering plants. Public access to this government building is not allowed. Its exteriors are beautiful, with intricate moldings and designs.

This colossal European architecture is a reminder of Saigon's colonial legacy. Although renamed to Ho Chi Minh City after its fall to the communists in 1975, the former city hall still serves as government building. Unfortunately it is not open to public.

Very nice colonial building located in a central area surrounded by shops and eating places. Combine the visit with Ho Chi Minh Squares and the Opera House. Best visited in the evening and at night when the weather is more agreeable.

Beautiful architecture and lit up at night is just stunning. A nice calm place with a lovely fountain nearby and Uncle Ho's statute with manicured garden area. Very clean. Shame you cant go inside. Nice to go when they close the traffic off and you can really enjoy this space. Lots of local families walking around here.

Pity you can't go inside! The building architecture and colour are stunning, especially in the sunlight. Take a walk around. Very well kept and clean. Worth a stop. You need maybe 5 to 10 minutes. Centrally located so you are likely to pass it anyway.
