Built in 1744, this unique temple is the oldest in Ho Chi Minh City. A haven of tranquility where Taoism and Conficianism merge with Buddhism. The pagoda compound includes ornate tombs, a rare bodhi tree and an elegant statue of Quan Tge Am Bo Tat, the goddess of mercy. Free entrance.

This place is a little far from the city area. However with Uber, it was easy getting in and out of the area. Many old statues and craftsmanship were different from usual Chinese ones. Spent an hour here and I zipped out of the area and back to HCMC.

An authentic experience of life and religion in Vietnam. I enjoyed walking up the pagoda to get a view over the city. the grounds were nicely kept and the temple too is interesting. We saw a service in progress. The tall white buddha is one I've seen in brochures, so was glad to have seen it in person. We were... More

When I walked inside the pagoda, there were a spiritual atmosphere that told me about the age of the pagoda. I was impressive by the roofs of the buildings as well as all the pillars, doors,... inside the buildings.

Had read about this Pagoda...was fascinated to know it was the oldest Pagoda, built in 1744...and the story surrounding it...but going to see it was difficult, an uncomfortable experience...traffic is congested...you can miss it as there are no signs...locals have no idea and if you don't have someone speaking Vietnamese it is an impossible task. In the Pagoda itself, there... More

we got there by taxi since this is a remote place if you do not know the city; service was going on, and we were invited in and really nicely invited to participate in the ceremony; people were very kind and peaceful, concentrated and tolerant vis a vis us, who are not buddhist; this made it a very intense and...
