About
Saigon Outcast was born early 2012 with 3 shipping containers stacked akibo on a grassy block of land, next came DIY wood plank swings, zen garden, I-beam torri gate, fridge of beer, a half-pipe and a whole lot of good vibes. We are genuine 100% creative that love a good BBQ and basically just want to encourage creative expression in all shapes and forms. Peace, love, BBQ's and motorcycles. Please check our event page for on face book > saigonoutcast > event for more info. Note: TUES + WED are workshops days. When there are no workshops, those days can be very quiet and peaceful. THURS we have outdoor cinema screening variety of handpicked foreign films and documentaries. (Movie starts at 8, come early to find best seating) FRI Jameson Jam session: Social gathering and communal practice session. One free jameson drink for performers. (Come at 8 to Jam) SAT is super quiet if we dont have an event or private bookings. SUN is family day with music, live graffiti and usually very busy. (best come after 4) Outcast is a venue and creative space for artists, musicians, skaters etc. A self serviced bar.. Pick up a skateboard if you want to skate, buy our spray paints to tag your graffiti art, go to bar to order food and drinks. If you want excellent service and fine cuisine then this is not a place for you.

spending time at Saigon outcast was one of my highlights of living in saigon for nearly two years. the funky venue made from shipping containers in the super cool area of thao dien in district 2 is a must see for anyone looking for something special in saigon. As a venue they are pushing the boundaries of the creative arts scene in saigon providing a wonderful platform for local musicians and artists. from art festivals to reggae parties, to live music nights the variety is extensive and often raising money for local charities. Their weekly movie nights were really special, sittin on beanbags under the stars watching the big screen and enjoying some of their yummy food! Linh and Ha are wonderful hosts, outcast is their home and they welcome everyone with open arms. people return to outcast on a regular basis and its fast becoming a wonderful artistic community. you will come as a guest and leave as a friend. i urge anyone visiting saigon to head to outcast for a fabtastic experience! missing you all terribly love sara x

Saigon Outcast is the best hang out in Saigon, ever changing events, great music, great crowd.
If you want to chill one afternoon or warm up on a Saturday night in a welcoming, open-air location; that's your choice.

This place is not as big as I'd thought. It's located in a quiet area of District 2 which is known as a place for rich people to live in Saigon. After all of these, I found this place had very nice setting. The fresh air, a windy evening, local food and some drinks made my day very enjoyable. I definitely come back here for more nice experience.

because the restaurant was full on Sunday, we were asked to sit up stair near entrance during hot noon time which was fine for me.
What was annoyed that there was one foreigner manager there who decided that he had nothing to do but spontaneously removed the deck cover on top of our heads in the middle of our lunch (without checking in with us) exposed all to direct fierce sun & heat, i thought he needs sunlight therefore we moved to another table in shadow. But you know what, that same manager 30 minutes later just again moved the deck backward which exposed us again under direct sun in the middle of our meal again !
The look in his eyes like telling us (mom & kids) he didn’t care and he had fun doing that.
We were speechless!
I just paid and left, will not come back until they learn about proper customer services

This is a very cool space for big events. Perfect spot for music and drinking and meeting friends. The place is a little dead when there isn't something organized going on, but whether you're there for a special event or just to hang with friends, the atmosphere is relaxed, the people are friendly, and the art on the wall is awesome!

Came with my wife and 5 year old daughter and left after only 20 mins.
Nothing special or unique... much smaller than I thought it would be. Rock climbing wall area was small, food selection limited, shopping offerings not super unique or interesting.
Maybe it was not our style, but not likely to come back or recommend.
One suggestion, similar to some other reviewers, worth re-evaluating the 20K entrance fee... not really the amount but the concept behind it may make some people feel not worthwhile to stop by for a quick visit regularly. Entrance ticket comes with water/beer, most people likely will buy at least equivalent in drinks as place is outdoor, so you get to the same place without creating discomfort with potential new first time, non-regular customers. 2 cents for what its worth.
Thanks.

Saigon Outcast is more like an ongoing art project than anything else. Creativity is encouraged no matter what event is happening, and it is such a breath of fresh air. Its a bit outside of the city which is actually a nice contrast to the crazy city center. They have movie nights, djs, flea markets, music festivals, a bar, food and bbq. It just depends on what they are hosting that night. There is even a half pipe and open graffiti painting. The drinks are also reasonably priced, and the workers are always great. Can't emphasize how awesome this place is. If there was an establishment like this in my hometown back in the states people would freak out. If you visit Saigon there is no other place that compares. I go for events neary every week, and I'm still impressed with the stuff they pull off there. Like-minded people getting together to celebrate, art life and creativity. What more do you need? Get to it people!

Saigon Outcast is one of the most culturally significant venues in the greater HCMC area. Where else caters to outdoor cinema, skating and bmxing, music festivals, art festivals, street art competitions, etc? Every month there are at least a few must attend events, great for families during daylight hours and good for scenesters when the sun goes down.

Saigon Outcast is all about its atmosphere. Imagine a large area covered with sand and grass, with a stage which regularly hosts bands, some old containers rehabilitated into appartments, a mini-ramp for skateboarders, a chill bar and several small snack shops. It looks like a small music festival everytime there is something organized there. Check their website, and wether it is a skateboarding contest, a flea market, a rock gig or a rock paper scissors contest (yeah yeah)... you should try to go there! Morover, the food is good (excellent hot dog) and the beer is cheap.

20 mins out of the city ($15 taxi), felt like we were in the Vietnamese version of Bondi.....very hipster! Awesome music and atmosphere is chill plus eclectic market, yummy fried rice, reasonable price food and drinks ($1.50 local beer and soft drink). Overall nice place to hang out for a few hours and relax. More western people than locals, so didn't feel 'authentic' in term of modern Vietnamese culture but what do I know....only been here 1 day.

What is the update schedule for your speed boat? Complimentary? How far from bus station to your hotel? How long does it take by taxi? Do you have pick up service? How much is the charge? How to confirm pick up time with you? Can you contact with me directly?

Hello,
Sorry for the late reply, I think you have the wrong venue, we don't have any boats or river transport service.
I think you may are referring the Deck which is a really nice restaurant by the river.
Thanks and good luck,
Linh
