If you were into materials then this is the place, more for the locals buying material to make outfits. Very small isles and not really all that big, watch out for the scooters riding down the wider isles.

Thought Ben Thanh market is crowded but here it's even worse. The alleys walking between shops are so small with so much stuff to sell piling high... I felt suffocated after 5 minutes inside. Never came back and done all my shopping at Ben Thanh.

We went here after the Tan Dinh Church (which was closed). These are not tourist markets, it is mainly fabric and food but we enjoyed walking around and watching the locals haggle. You can buy Vietnamese candy here, which we did, and any other Vietnamese...More

I went to look for silk fabrics and found many stores selling the same fabrics as at ben Tahn market and other places. However I stumbled on a store (shop 414) that had great linen and nice voile. Went back the next day and the...More

This is a little out of the city but worth the 2km walk or taxi fare. Across the road from the market is the legend coffee shop which has great wifi and excellent melbourne (or Seattle) quality coffee. The market is fun, can be crowded...More

Tan Dinh Market caters to the locals. Therefore, it is less touristy. In fact, the items sold here is cheaper than Ben Thanh Market. Less 'aggressive' in pushing the sales to the visitors. It is a good bargain to get souvenirs here. There is a...More

This market is very diverse but overpriced. Try to bargain 20 - 30% of the prices if the price matters. If not see it as a nice tip.
