This Buddhist Monastery is about a 50-60 min cab or scooter ride from district 1.
It’s a great place to spend 1-2 hours if you are interested in Buddhism or looking to capture some amazing photos.
I hired a scooter round trip for about 300,000 dong and the ride there was amazing in itself!
It would be very hard to find a way back without prearrangement.
This visit was one of the highlights of my 1 month in VietNam

Beautiful pagoda, beside the magnificent view
it s special because of Thay Vien Minh, he s greatest spiritual teacher, I learnt a lot from him
you can also ask to meet him, ask him anything about life
Sunset in pagoda is also beautiful, you may ask to stay there if they still have room but need to request in advance,
I had wonderful experience there
it s quite far from Hochiminh city about 1 hours ( taxi around 300k , motor bike about 150k) many ppl ride bicyle there :)
I do believe if u go there and meet Thay Vien Minh. it will be life changing

It was totally unexpected to find such a peaceful place in the crowded Ho Chi Minh city. Away from the hustle-bustle of the concrete city, Buu Long Temple is located on an isolated land surrounded by a forest and scanty residences. Dedicated to lord Buddha, the temple's architecture is an amalgum of Indian and Thai style. The most stunning view here is the emerald green pond at the main entrance. On the first floor a life size wind chimes fills the air with positive vibes. You can meditate in the compond or just rejuvenate yourself as the wind touches your face. Behind the temple is an open-air Buddha temple, a golden pagoda that makes a beautiful photo prop, reclining buddha statue, residence of monks, a vegetarian restaurant and a beautiful manicured garden. It is beautiful to be here- a refreshing experience.
The motorable roads to reach here are in good condition. We enjoyed the bike ride though our GPS misguided us once. Since it gets extremely hot in summers, do carry enough water, sunglasses, hat/cap and sunscreen.

From the city centre, we took a taxi to the Buu Long (Buddhist) Temple (and just before that, we also stopped by a Vietnamese Chinese Temple). We spent about 30 minutes in and around the temple complex, but the temple itself was closed for viewing during out visit. It was certainly worthwhile making the one hour's journey by taxi from the city centre to the Buu Long (Buddhist) Temple.

Take a taxi or a bus tour, took a motorbike from district 5 and it wasn’t pleasant.
Great place for some peace and quiet and if your a photographer plenty of opportunity for those great shots.

Buu Long Temple has the official name of Zen Monastery Buu Long, originally a Tinh That, located at 81 Nguyen Xien Street, Long Binh Ward, District 9, Ho Chi Minh City. The pagoda has a campus of more than 11ha, located on the hill west of Dong Nai river, in the National Cultural History Park.

Took me sometime to discover this place but it was totally worth. This pagoda gives you thailan and myanmar feels as it doesn’t look like most of the Vietnamese pagoda. But one thing you keed to make sure of is the location you are putting up on grab or own goodle maps as we ended up at buu long water park as well.

Remarkable architecture. Most pagodas' architecture in VN is influenced by Chinese design, but Bửu Long temple is exceptional with its mixed architecture from India, Myanmar and Việt Nam. No big statue but it is still one of the most beautiful pagoda I've ever seen in VN.
I heard that the 2nd floor (where you could see the pearl-like relics or have a wide view from the balcony) was closed during noon time. So you better visit before 11 am or after 2 pm.

Visited per good reviews. Turned out nothing to wow about. Viet/Thai temple. Big place. The worse was the monk who let us inside to visit then rudely told us "hurry up to get out as I have more visitors this afternoon". What are we then? There is nothing inside to impress, no big statue whatsoever. One big room after another with a few small statues (small for the size of the room). Nice view of the surrounding when you get to the top.
Dai Tong Lam Tu temple has a lot to impress and also not crowded at all.
