The bridge was basic access to the other side of the river and traffic was moving. You can see small boats cruising underneath and the color of the water is brown.

The 'claim to fame' for this bridge is the fact that it was heavily bombed during the Tet offensive and almost destroyed. As it was the only bridge across the river at that time it was obviously important. Now it's just another bridge.

It is just a bridge to cross the river, and interesting only to look at the series of bridges that evolved over recent years to move people and goods, but is not otherwise of interest to tourists.

Even if Eiffel designed this bridge, it is decidedly average. Overcrowded, noisy, it does serve its purpose, allowing pedestrians, bikes to cross the river.

Not really an attraction for me but I did see it walking along the riverfront. Nothing special and I wouldn't take a trip to see it unless you are there already.

Granted, this is not Hué's greatest attraction. But it provides a nice way to get to the old city, good views of the Perfume River and its boat traffic and -as usual in Vietnam- the mesmerizing flow of motorbikes. Not bad for an undistinguished iron...More

Is this really an attraction? It links the west bank (citadel) of Hue with the east bank, where most of us stay when visiting. It is a bridge, yes really. It's busy with traffic, but this is Vietnam after all.
