Amazing

The drive from Tblisi to Yervan is amazing. There is a deep gorge, tall peaks, and beautiful vistas. Nature at its best.

Many years ago I joined a Yezidi shepherd as he took his sheep from the valley to the top of the mountain. We started at about mid-night and walled (no moon) through the night. We stopped at sunrise, which was absolutely spectacular (days before smartphones, so no photo). Then we had breakfast which consisted of some eggs, cheese and bread... More

Caucasus mountains are one of the cleanest and most beautiful mountains. We went to Armenia when the snow started to fall. We have the best taxi driver that even zero visibility in the mountains he can drive. It was fun seeing snow capped Caucasus mountains. Must see.

The Caucasian Mountains are a very beautiful landscape with different looks. There are almost dry parts, others are very green. Some look very rocky while others look like covered by a satin blanket (to speak with my cousin’s words). It is are really great possibility to relax, to explore and to have exercises; there are endless ways to do it.... More

Visiting the Caucuses is a great thing to do to get out of grey Yervan in the winter. The views are stunning and the snow bright and beautiful!

The climate of the Caucasus varies according to elevation and latitude location. For example, average temperature decreases as elevation rises. The same thing with precipitation, which increases with elevation. There is also more precipitation, including snowfall, on the western slopes of the mountains from the influence of the Black Sea.

The mountain roads are primitive and a wee bit dangerous, but the views and the types of formations are unlike any I have ever seen. On a clear day, Mt. Ararat is spectacular. It is worth the treacherous drives.
