Scenic snow capped peaks and deep ravines with or without vegetation is a sight to behold. The recommended seasons are spring for greenery and flowers and autumn for colourful foliage.

Beautiful, amazing, so big... We drove several trips in the mountains to visit different places with monasteries, Lake Sevan, some days in Georgia ect. You can drive for hours, but its a beautiful ride and you will pass cows and goats going around in herds.

Good luck getting a glimpse of Mt. Ararat! I almost ran into a lady at the airport as I tried to get a last look!

I am a nature lover and this is a priceless place. I would rate Caucasus mountains as the best in Armenia. Just wanted to get lost in the mountains for some days. A must go place if you are a nature lover.

We liked Yerevan, but felt something was missing. But wen we got out of the city, we saw the real beauty of the country. So please, do so if you can, it is breathtaking. Just a lot of pristine seemingly untouched nature.

We were taken to a view post where we could see the Caucasian Mountains. It was magnificent! If you luck, you might even come across local singers, singing about freedom without any instruments!

I think the advice you received is good. I've only been to the area in the summer.

You should go by car, ask in Yerevan for transport. You can find good hotels in Yerevan. You can go peacefully to nagorno Karabach if you want.
