It is hard to get there - but nicely adventurous, if you go by bus. You need to change buses, or combine metro and bus - of course it is hard to find the correct bus, as locals do not speak english. The site is...More

This place though not maintained as nice as other places in Baku, really does justice to what Azerbaijan is called for Land of Fire. We went there by bus (no 237 from Koroglu Metro) which only costs 10 cents for about 40 minutes. Got to...More

The flame is caused by gas going into the surface, feeding a perpetual flame. The view in top of the small hill is OK. I would not recommend this stop to be your main attraction, but as part of a tour or if you are...More

Quite unusual to see a natural outcrop of gas which has apparently been alight since records began but it is a long way out of town in a bit of a run down area and not really worth the trip to see a large bonfire!

Very nice natural outcrop with burning gas going out. The place is ideal for visiting at night or in winter. There small old style restaurant next to it providing tea with sweets

You get a good understanding that this is a gas and oil country. Story goes that a shephard through a cigarette butt on the ground and the fire was lit. Worth checking out, take a walk up the hill for a view
