I found this event on Trip Advisor and am so glad that I took the time to travel to the theater on a Friday night. It was as mentioned a bit far by tuk tuk but had the driver stay as recommended for the 1 hour duration of the performance. It actually started at 7 and not 7:30 as the... More

A wonderful experience with performances by local people keeping alive traditional arts. It's been a different performance each time I have been, sometimes focus on puppets, sometimes dance, always music accompaniment. Something for everyone.

A fun show, worth the trek to find it. My hotel and tuk tuk driver had not heard of the place before, but we managed thanks to google maps :) the center supports local artists and is a great cultural attraction. Worth the ticket price and the tuk tuk too, I really enjoyed it. The story is all in Khmer... More

Just so good! It's worth spending both time and money. A place where take you to the ancient world of Khmer culture with the shadow and rhyme of Khmer music.

We have taken friends to the shadow puppet show and dance at Sovanna Phum on two different occasions when we've been in Cambodia. It's a small outdoor venue where you'll be part of an intimate audience of both Cambodian families and international tourists. Show lasts about 1 hour. The performers are dancing their hearts out, keeping alive this ancient tradition... More

Nice cultural experience in Phnom Penh, but a lot of locals don't know where it is. the street it is located on is pretty quiet, so if you came via tuk-tuk it's best to just pay/ask them to wait for you. Shows run from 7:30-8:30 on Friday and Saturday nights, and you can choose where you sit. $10 ticket comes... More

Absolute must-see while in Phnom Penh. Live music and innovative, creative shows. You could easily come more than once in a month as the shows change regularly. A fantastic blend of traditional arts and contemporary touches and humour that reveal the heart that goes into creating such wonderful performances. The large panel shadow puppets and dance are particularly wonderful. A... More

If you are in PP in a Friday or Sat do not miss. Your tuk tuk driver will take you out to a questionable looking neighborhood and wait), the show is amazing and professional and very underrated. A real taste of Cambodian artistry in an unpretentious setting. Shadow puppets can be bought after show. A must for adults as well... More

The show lasts a bit more than an hour. The night I went there were shadow puppets, some Khmer dance, and some acrobatics, accompanied by traditional live music. The venue is small and was not crowded. The leather shadow puppets are available for sale.Sovanna Phum means golden age,and the purpose,of,the organization is to preserve traditional arts. The venue is a... More
