I'm so glad I made time for this! There are two sessions daily at 9am-11am and 5pm-7pm for English language practice here. When you arrive, you sit in a little plastic chair and the kids (most of them are high school or college age) gather around you and pepper you with questions. They are very eager to learn. It is... What an unbelievable opportunity to give back to the youth of Luang Prabang. We went to the 5pm English class and it was packed with kids and travellers wishing to give back to Laos. Bringing my camera was a great help as the pictures provided topics for discussion. Paper and pen also were helpful.

First, please could this attraction be classified correctly and not under shopping! This is a fantastic free experience where you go and chat to local students hoping to improve their English. If you have a couple of hours free and you would like to do something very simple and extremely rewarding, please do this and also spread the word. My... More

This was high on our list as we had read about it prior to our trip and really wanted to get there and read English to the local children - and support this charity that promotes reading in Laos.....unfortunately we were not alone and they were all booked out for the 2 times we tried. We have been promoting the... More

This was the highlight of my trip to Luang Prabang and urge everyone to go! This is a drop-in centre for local students, usually at school or college to meet English speaking tourists to improve their English. It has a morning session 9am to 11am and an evening session 5pm to 7pm. I went one morning and found it so... More

A free activity that will help you meet the local people. Turn up at 9am or 5pm for 2 hours of English conversation. They were as curious about me as I was about them! And they are very keen to learn.

My fiancé and I came there to help teach some of the locals english. They are so nice and it's incredible to see how hard they are trying to learn English and better themselves, in which we were more than happy to play a small part in conversing with them, learning more about them and their way of life, and... We discovered this place at the end of our 15 days spent in Luang Prabang and my children ages 10 and 12 insisted we go back at every opportunity (2x a day for 2 hours each time but you can drop in if you cannot stay the entire 2 hours) because it was so touching. They did not want to... More

I first went in the morning from 9 to 11 to check it out. I had such an amazing time talking with the super motivated students that I came back to work again with them from 5 to 7. This is definitely an experience worth having. The kids are awesome and totally focused on learning English. It's inspiring!

I learned about Big Brother Mouse randomly through an American/French family that we were sitting next to while we were eating at the night market. It seemed like such a great cause and I felt like I really wanted to give something back to the local community. The 2-hour sessions are from 9am-11am and 5pm-7pm, and I was really nervous... More
