This exhibit hall for the National Institute is very conveniently located- a walkable distance from most places in town. And if you are driving, there is parking. It is a modest structure and the collection is small, but the generally *large* works show a pleasant cross-section of Lao life. There are also additional works on display and stacked in an... More

Many large paintings representing Laotian people. Large dimly lit hall. Note that the current picture (pink building) is NOT this attraction. Location: Khoun Boulom Road immediately east of Chao Anou Road

This centre showcases Lao artists and their paintings and artwork. This is the place to go to discover the future of Laotian art and maybe buy a painting at a reasonable price.

Works by many local artists including etchings and lithographs at affordable prices. Easy location to reach and find; inside a little dusty. Requires some time to sift through the many works on sale.

Not an easy place to find, but it was well worth the journey. Located close to the corner of Khoun Boulom Road and Chao Anou Road , this gallery exhibits the work of students and teachers at the Fine Arts Institute, a school for aspiring Laotian artisans. The school itself is outside town close to the Indian and Australian embassy,... More

In July I visited Vientiane and as I was walking along the road I came across the exhibition hall for the National Institute of Fine Arts. Housed in a lovely building are art pieces such as woodcuts, paintings, sculpture. I enjoyed being able to look at some of the artistic talent of Laos and was also able to afford to... More
