These are all new structures as they were damaged and made recently, though the base is still original.

In all places I visited my first point of attention is the design of the structure. Just like this shrine, I was fascinated by its architectural design as well as other things there at that showcases their religion or belief.

This is convenient to visit, is beautifully decorated, and has interesting artefacts inside, but there are no explanations for anything, so it is of limited interest to foreign visitors.

Vientiane City Pillar Shrine is historical monument showing cultural heritage of Laotian people. It also shows local architecture of Laos. If you love to see local heritage and architecture, then you will surely love this place. The place calm and soothing.

This is the site of the "city pillar" of Vientiane. The story of it's placement is dramatic. It is in the smaller room behind the main temple and is wrapped in a holy cloth.
