We started the climb at 3AM, determined to reach the top before sunrise. The path is paved, well-lit and safe - being a solo female, I made my way up on my own okay. It was a looooong climb and some of the steps are really steep. There are a lot of small stores selling water, tea, coffee, etc along... More

We have decide to climb Adam's peak on our 5 day trip to Sri Lanka. The only day available on our schedule was on Saturday, National day of Sri Lanka. We started at 1am due to expected crowds and for sunrise we were stuck for 4 hours without any movement for 2 hours, about 100m before the entrance to the... More

The thought of starting a 2-3 hour climb at 2am was daunting but I was determined to do it and I am glad that I did. For a reasonably healthy person, the climb up although not easy is very doable. The key thing is the pace yourself, depending on your fitness level and the state of your legs. There are... More

We left at 2:30am and easily made it up the top by 5:30am.I'm quite fit but I still found the last 1000 or so steps of the trek pretty hard!!! Unfortunately the fog ruined the sunrise for us as we couldn't see much, but it was still a great experience and I am happy we did it! Views on the... More

first and fore, if you have respiratory troubles or vertigo or you haven`t done intensive sport exercises for ages , please do not try to climb it otherwise do it within 6-7 hours and get lots of rest whenever you feel tired. think of carrying a little back bag with you where to put a bottle of water, hot drinks... My friend told me about Adam's Peak and how it was a very tough challenge. I was told it takes around 4 hours for the climb and another 3 to descent. We had a very limited time window considering our schedule here. We left from Bentota at 0300hrs in the Morning, reached Colombo at 0500hrs, from where we took a... More

Adams Peak is an outstanding peak with a Buddhist temple at the very top. There is a path to the top which consists largely of concrete steps, just under 5900 of them. My husband and I climbed at night leaving our hotel at 1.30am and reached the summit at 5am. We were there in good time to see the sunrise... More

We are a couple in our 60's but are regular walkers and whilst we didn't find the climb up Adam's Peak easy it is achievable. We started walking at 2am and reached the summit in 2 1/2 hrs, the first third is relatively easy, the middle third is hard and the last third is very hard. The steps were well... More

You can never anticipate the weather when travelling the Adam's Peak as the climate will change very often (sunshine, raining, cloudy, foggy) in a short period of time due to high mountain. So raincoat, towel, a pair of spare sock, gloves, hiking stick (some hotels will have spares for lending) and warm clothes are highly recommended to be with you.... More

Arrived Nallathaniya around 8pm after 6 hour drive from Kandy tired, sleepy and hungry. Had a quick meal and briefing from the guy who run the hotel and also gave us some advice when climbing the Peak. Then had a couple of hour sleep and started our climb at 2am. It took us 3 and a half hour to reach... More
