Located in the middle of the Rudaki Park complex, it covers from ancient times to the modern day. Reasonable way to spend a few hours.

The National Museum of Tajikistan is an imposing building with a large park complex surrounding it. At the center of the park is the world's tallest flagpole. Each floor is different and there seem to be samples of Tajik history from all eras. The basement floor has a replica of a reclining Buddha found at the Ajina-Tepe Buddhist monastery and... More

Modern building situated in a park, near the largest flag of Tadzhikistan. The collection is a nice overview of Tadzhik and central Asian history.

First of all don't expect anything close to a fancy Western style museum with things like audio guide or multi media. Uncrowded during the visit with exhibits ranging from prehistory to present day. Most exhibits have Tajik, Russian and English. Fascinating history of Tajikistan and the region.

This isn't a very informative museum. A few random things on display but will just state what you are looking at. I would have liked more on the countries history but I'm not sure they are at a stage to share that yet. Beautiful photos on top floor

Covers the long, interesting and unknown, to me, history of Tajikistan. Nice displays. Guaranteed you will learn a lot.
