A good area for shops, cafe's and restaurants with a lively buzz. Vendors are persistent and vie for your custom but you get used to it. Some excellent shoe shops worth a visit and souvenir prices oddly better than the Grand Bazaar.

Very interesting visit..nice historic area full of surprises! If this your first visit to Istanbul you had to stay in this part of town, there is a lot to do within walking distance. There are also lots of restaurants and bars near here.

The area is much nicer at night. Sultanahmet might be opened for longer hours, Hagia Sophia is closing at 17;00 I recommend for visiting Suleymaniye Mosque and district which is really close to there, much more authentic... More

Do not miss is! If you don't have any luggage with you is better! Ill say $70 Turkish lira per taxi Food is not expensive, once in Hagia Sophia you can make it in 1 1/2 is a must! Then work the times for Blue Mosque and... More
