Totally enjoyed walking the whole day from our hotel near Taksim Square down Istiklal Avenue, and many other slip roads that led us to streets lined with shops selling musical instruments, souvenirs, antiques. These roads were steep with steps and a walkway but you must...More

Great place to go to experience Istanbul from the heights. Avoid the forced experience of helicopter flying (a supposedly 4D experience) attached to the entry ticket.

Meet me at the Galata Tower! Really cool sight to look at and good central meeting place. What more can you say? Definitely worth a gander and very Istanbul.

This is a classic view tower with amazing views of Istanbul. There is usually a line but it moves quickly. We are in the restaurant at the top and the food was good and the price was cheap.

I have travelled much of the world amd there are views to die for and worth doing. This is not one and a total waste of time. The only nice thing is the tower itself from the outside! Don't bother! It's an uphill climb to...More

The Galata tower was built originally in the 6th century as a lighthouse and has been reconstructed on many occasions after damages. You can pay 20 Lira for getting to the top. There are 2 small elevators for the 7th floor and then you have...More

My wife and I visited the Galata Tower during a 5-day visit to Istanbul. We arrived late afternoon and had to wait in a queue for 40 minutes before getting in. However, the wait was worth it, as the views from the top are incredible...More

There is a cafe and also there is a Restaurant. I believe you will not be requiring a reservation prior as most of the time its empty. But in case you can inquire at the reception at the bottom of Galata
