This place is a must-visit definitely, but a little too over-priced, I think. The views it offers of Istanbul are amazing :) Maybe that makes it worth the ticket price :)

Standing proudly for centuries, climb up the stairs to get a 360 view of all Istanbul. It is worth the while and you can take splendid pictures.

If you want a killer 360 degree view of Istanbul, then definitely come here. We trudged up the hill just so we could stand in a long line, pay 25TL each, be herded into a claustrophobic elevator, fight the downward crowd for stair time as...More

You can get not only a wonderful view of Istanbul but also may have some surprises here! Guess what I saw on the tower? A seabird! And I took some wonderful photos with it and really enjoy the beautiful views here!

Being in Istanbul from June 30th to July 5th, one of the best places to see in Istanbul was Galata tower. Took the Metro to funicular and tramway to Galata tower, it could be seen, so followed the path. An inclined path should be passed...More

Galata Tower is a pleasure to visit. It is grand and somehow looks even more beautiful at night. You can NOT go to Istanbul and not visit Galata.

It was a nice experience to reach the top of the tower and see the breathtaking view of the Bosphorus and of Sultanahmet old city. However, keep in mind that the queue is pretty long. We had to wait for 1.5 hours as there is...More

A 'must see'.. the time to go is 5pm or 6pm in the summer for great photos of the historical heart of Istanbul across the water.

The hotel is especially good for backpackers. stairs are narrow. however, the hotel is situated in a really great position. 5 minutes to Taksim square and is right around the corner to the galata bridge

A great monument to visit with a strong sense of antiquity. Don't forget the virtual helicopter tour of Istanbul in the 3d cinema of the tower in the 2nd floor; you'll also see the old access corridors of the tower while getting through.

There is a cafe and also there is a Restaurant. I believe you will not be requiring a reservation prior as most of the time its empty. But in case you can inquire at the reception at the bottom of Galata

Was around 20TL. We did not go up, but it could be nice nighttime to see the other part of Istanbul, the old city with the mosques.
