Again...East meets West and the neighborhoods and area are just plain fun and interesting to nose around. Boat tours will point out the area from the water and has a special charm as the sun sets.

Its the major urban waterway cutting through both continets. If you don't have time for the full Bosphorus cruise, you can use this inexpensive commuter ferry and enjoy seeing some of Istanbul from the water. Easy to get off when you want and get another ferry...More

Eminonu is the main ferry hub. It also has a tram station. The ferries go to the asian side at short intervals. The spice market is also located closeby.

This is a beautiful strait of the Bosphorus in Istanbul. Despite the catchy name, we found no reference to the origin of the name.

The various neighborhoods that make up the "Golden Horn" really give a visitor a flavor of Istanbul. It feels very old European more so than Middle Eastern- get lost, enjoy yourself, and wander.

Good to see both sides of the see here, the boat will take in a 1/2 hour tour by his hand operated boat. It's fun for a change.
