We went there after what we read about the area and we found nothing worth to watch or do . Crowded place and very noise with workers. Every where.

Once upon a time there was a friendly little village called Bebek on the European side of Bosphorus, Istanbul. It hosted the Ottoman Elite, as a summer residential area for a long time. It is still a lovely village with a beautiful seaside promenade and nice restaurants/bars/cafés. Bebek Hotel is right on the Bosphorus with a picturesque view. It has... More

Trying Bebek while being in Istanbul is a must! It is a very nice neighborhood, full of beautiful cafes and restaurants. No matter if you go there in daylight or at night, anytime, you can enjoy the view. The important thing is that it is not so crowded like the other parts of Istanbul.

This area has a good view with many nice resturants and cafes around that most of them have a nice view. The place is easily accessible by car.

This area might be popular with locals where they come to have nice quite time at a weekend morning but not so popular with tourists visiting Istanbul. I recommend any one visiting Istanbul to go to this area full of restaurants and cafes to have a nice breakfast or late brunch with a beautiful view overlookong the Bosphore.

A partly cloudy, mostly sunny day one day after the attempted coup-d'eta. People are not scary any more, nor as joyful as would be if not a coup attempt. Conversations in English and Spanish at the other tables in the restaurant tells that the worst is over and hope is prevalent in all aspects. It was a relaxation to have... More

Staying in Besiktas

Neighbourhood Profile
In Besiktas, skyscrapers compete with palaces for space in an upscale vista replete with hilly green parkland filling in the margins. Step into this rather wealthy neighbourhood and discover a rich mix of opportunities to shop, dine, and be entertained. For folks in search of urban buzz, not to mention a constant reminder of just how important Istanbul’s waterways are to its rich history, there's the frenetic Besiktas ferry terminal or the city’s most vibrant fish market to explore. For a timeout of metropolitan proportions, head to the bucolic Yildiz Park or the chic Bosphorus-side fishing village of Ortakoy. Attractions such as the grandiose Dolmabahce Palace and a bevy of other stately residences await admiration. To be sure, this large and not overly touristy swath of Istanbul yields plenty of pleasure for all.
