We enjoyed this experience as it was full of local people. We took the ferry several times to Uskudar on the Asian side. Have to wait for some time and not much English spoken so the first time was a bit difficult to be understood...More

Very active and sometime congested place, but you can see the life of the city. Take the boat and go on tbe Bosphorus, it will cost few lira.

Take a bosphorus boat trip from here. I bought mine for 12 Lira (3.6$). After the drop off explore the market and eat Balik Ekemek (fish sandwich nearby. Awesome experience

Great Pier to catch ferries to other locations. You can travel up the Bosphorus, go to the Asia side of Istanbul or take a trip to one of the four Princes Islands.

depends how long is your Lay-over... if it's the whole day, then by all means get a tour of the Bosphorus, but if only a few hours, better stay in the airport because before you arrive in the city, it will take you an hour... More

On Eminonu Pier next to boats that sells grilled fish sandwiches (next to Galata Bridge) you have a kiosk where you can buy tickets for 12TL (for adults) - it is 1,5hr long Bosphorus tour - very convenient and cheap. You... More
