Early Morning Fun

My boys are early risers, so it was nice to come here in the early morning. The playground was nice, and the flowers were beautiful.

It was only 3 minutes walk from our hotel, we went there everyday. Beautiful and relaxing. Definitely recommended.

A lovely patch of green for relaxing in the midst of a walking tour through istanbul's historic quarter. It is actually an extension of the Topkapı Palace which is now open to the public, so there's no ticket. There is an overpriced cafe in one corner in case you get hungry, but I don't recommend it.

Lovely park for nice long walks. Beautiful in winter as well as summer. There is a lovely restaurant in the park where we stopped for lunch.

It's a must to go especially during the autumn. The environment is amazing. There is also a good coffee shop that you can try Saleb their traditional hot drink. You can go there very easy by bus from Eminunu square

Perfect for nice long walks; not far from Sultanahmet, and has the Islamic museum for Science and Technology which is quite exciting to visit.

Little to see, need some cafés and other services . Good side way if you go from/to Topkaki/Museums.

I stubbled upon the park while wandering around. What a nice oasis. I won't say quiet because it's clearly a weekend spot for the locals. But it's worth a little stroll. It has several winding paths that lead toward a view of the Asian side of the city. There's a nice series of fountains near the entrance. And a few... More

Gulhane Park is a spacious area of green with plenty of trees for shade. It surrounds Topkapi Palace and sits right up against the Palace walls. It’s a nice place to relax in the centre of busy Istanbul, and there are some cafes with nice views if you are hungry. It seemed there were lots of locals with their children... More

This is a big park beside the Archeological Museum. It was winter time when we visited and the gardens were not maintained. Many families and young people enjoying the park.

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
