This site is within the ancient city of Ephesus (pay to enter). And you have to pay again to visit the terrace houses of the rich: but it is well worth the extra. The arrangement of the integrated dwellings, the mosaics and the wall paintings make the site truly exceptional.

Good place to go to get away from the summer sun or to see on going excavation or just how people lived back then. The mosaics that are intact are really something else. Those people that lived in those houses you know they had money. I just wish it was included in the price of admission to Ephesus.

When we visited in May we were the only visitors in the covered enclosure of the Terrace Houses and so we were able to enjoy the incredible site at our leisure and also observe the preservation being carried out by the staff. I highly recommend this to everyone and would love to visit again

This is situated inside the Ephesus site. You have to pay extra (20 lira) but it was well worth the time. Beautiful site currently being restored and great overview of life in those times! Only downside was number of steps thought exhibition and huge steep steps down after exit. Not good for restricted mobility!

They did such a great job restoring and setting up the walk through the houses, complete with marble, wall paintings, and mosaics. You just have to see it!

We have visited the apartments at least ten times. It is very interesting to see the details that are emerging from the excavations. It is fun to see and imagine ancient life in Ephesus. The facility is covered so it can be a break from the sun or the rain.

Its worth looking at the terrace houses simply to respect the amount of work that is still being put to restore the ancient city. If you take an all inclusive museum pass, the terrace houses are included..so I'd say money worth spending...

Talk about a massive 3D puzzle to reassemble - without a picture to guide you. The job they are doing is hugely impressive. But so are the original houses now about 2000 years old! This is where the rich lived, with the tile floors, marble covered walls, and rooms for all purposes joined together in a large complex.

Although you have to pay separately to your Ephesus entrance, it is worth the visit. Using your imagination you can travel back in time and imagine the luxury and decadence that must have been lived in the baths. Some of the stone work is still in good shape.
