One of the head streams of the Jordan can be found here. Dan was the northern part of the Kingdom of Israel--you can see the ancient altar excavated and walk among the excavated ruins as part of the Reserve. Lovely spot to experience--and so lush!

We visited in Winter so maybe a bit more lush at this time of year. But what a welcome surprise to see all the green and beautiful river. I'm sure it would be a welcomed retreat from the heat in the Summer months as there is even a wading pool with wheel chair access and all. We loved seeing the... More

Lots of water and green areas. View is breath taking. In a clear day you can see mount Hermon with snow.

There are both paved and unpaved paths at this park, you can choose from 4 or do them all The first path begins as wheel chair accessible. Ask when you check in regarding what level of activity you are interested in. Staff was friendly and helpful. This park was beautiful to walk through. We arrived on a day/time that we... More

We were at Tel-Dan reserve yesterday, the weather was perfect, warm and not too hot, but anyway in Tel Dan most of the trails are shady and cool. This reserve is very fun to travel with anyone, including young kids. I know they are working on making all their trails accessible, but now only one is. The vegetation, trees, water... More

If you're looking to a place to go there with family (all ages) or friends it's a really good idea :) You can walk around the hole place during 2-2.5 hours. The walk itself isn't too hard - you just have a couple of places with rocks that some people feel a bit hard to walk on them. Great experience!... More

The Tel Dan area tell us about the story behind the 10 tribes who split after Salomon deside to rise the taxes over the Israel people. This is simply amazing, being there and seeting the form of a non kosher Temple.

Walls thousands of years old. Gate to an ancient city. Gates of cities are mentioned often in Hebrew Scripture as places were leaders and elders met. One specifically, a recent discovery, is identified as one used by Avraham the Patriach. The Northen Kingdom establishes places of worship in the north (Tel-Dan) and the south (Be- Tel) and Tanach is no... More

My husband's family lives in Israel, so we visit the country often and have visited many places. Without a doubt, my absolute favorite place to visit is Tel Dan! Don't get me wrong; you should see Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Masada, the Dead Sea, etc.... but before you go home with any preconceived notions of Israel as just a desert country,... More
