Site has been remodeled to look nothing like described in the Bible. Populated and shrined with candles and incense; and floors and walls remodeled with stone and mortar - not sure what to think of the commercialization of the site...

This trip has to be amongst my most spiritually moving journeys in Israel. I travelled from Jerusalem to visit this special cave and as soon as I started to ascend the mount as the sea came into view I could sense the connection of this...More

Visiting the Cave was part of a two hour tour that included seeing the Baha'i Shrine and Gardens. The Cave is nearby and doesn't take long to visit but is interesting. It is one of Israel's holiest sites. Need to dress modestly!

You feel the energy as soon as you enter, sacred place indeed! No long ques, no commercialization, just an epic religious place. A sanctuary if you like, full of devotees praying that in-itself was epic,

This a religious prayer site similar to the Western Wall. It is difficult to find. You have to climb up by the school where you see the sign with an arrow from the street. You can purchase a tea light candle to light and make...More

Being a holy site to so many religions, we expected a well-maintained spot. While the location and view are spectacular (Elijah sure had good taste), what greeted us after a short climb (31C) was a large table loaded with food, 10-12 people milling about, eating,...More
