- Neil H.Los Angeles, California3 contributionsMuseum quality antiquities you can bring home.I couldn’t recommend visiting Zak’s shop any more highly. We wandered in to Zak’s almost by accident, on our first night in Jerusalem in late January. What a time we had, it was hands down the best shop we went in. Zak and his assistant were the most gracious and knowledgeable guys we came across. No pressure to buy, but happy to show and explain everything in the shop. His collection of jewelry and antiquities is museum quality. As it was the first night we didn’t have a benchmark on the initial visit, but after days of exploring it was obvious his knowledge was unmatched and his prices are beyond reasonable. I bought all of my serious gifts there, (Abrams horn, many olive wood crosses, coins, a ring and an arrowhead from the Bronze Age). Everyone made multiple purchases and furthermore, all the gifts were a huge hit when we got home. Even a local guy came in to inquire about a piece while we were there, something that impressed me. If locals are shopping there, it isn’t just a tourist trap shop. More important than the shopping was the conversation we had. Zak and his British assistant (sorry brother, your name escapes me!) are the coolest guys. I hope to return just to say hi, and see what they have new in the shop.Greatly appreciated thank youWritten 4 October 2020This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited January 2020Travelled on businessWritten 1 February 2020
- Zina AAtlanta, Georgia5 contributionsZak’s Antiquities is a must if you are in Jerusalem! We wandered into Zak’s shop during our trip to Israel. He is warm, welcoming and his knowledge of ancient antiquities is impressive and fascinating. He has all kinds of ancient treasures in his shop like pottery, coins, jewelry and Roman glass from Biblical times! I purchased beautiful earrings from him, made with fragments of Roman glass dating back to the Roman period 2000 years ago! He provided me with the certificate of authenticity for each of the earrings I purchased from him. I was thrilled when I found out he has a website. I have since ordered more items and gifts for family and friends from his shop online, including beautiful Olive Wood ornaments hand crafted in Bethlehem. If you are looking for something special for a loved one, check out his website! You don’t have to travel to Jerusalem to shop at his Zak’s, however if you find yourself in Jerusalem don’t miss this hidden gem in the Old City! Zak is trustworthy, his prices are fair and items purchased from his website always arrive quickly. I highly recommend to everyone!Thank you :) i do appreciate your review it means a lotWritten 4 October 2020This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited February 2020Travelled with friendsWritten 14 September 2020

I was recommended to visit the shop by lots of friends who come to Jerusalem often. Zak is great! He has so many interesting items in his shop, way more than is on display. Just ask for what you're looking for, and you can trust it's authentic.

I was referred to Zak's last year after volunteering on an archeological dig in Israel - I've been back twice since and have added some truly special pieces to my collection. Zak is very fair and makes friends of his customers, and his shop has so many treasures! Just to hold a piece of thousands of years old history in your hands is worth stopping in - tell him what you're looking for and prepare to find it. You'll always find a few friends stopping in - definitely a must-see and easy to find in the Old City.

I was looking for favors for my son’s First Holy Communion. I reached out to Zak after finding a beautiful Rosary box set on his website. He was so accommodating, and customized the boxes exactly the way I wanted them! He made the whole process so easy, and shipping was so fast. He is honest, offers fair prices and the BEST customer service! He also goes the extra mile. To make these favors extra special, he volunteered to get them blessed at the church of the Holy Sepulchre before shipping them out. It truly doesn’t get any better than this! I can’t wait to share them with our friends & family! I wholeheartedly recommend this shop and Zak to everyone! If you can’t shop at Zak’s in person in Jerusalem, then check out the treasures he has available on his website!

We were looking to pick up a few last minute gifts in the Old City on our last day there. It was the beginning of shabát and many of the stalls had closed. I read the reviews on Zak's, like that it was a multi-generational family business and saw we had just enough time to make it from the hotel. Found the owner talking with a friend from the states. It was close to closing but he took his time to go over so many items with us and extended true hospitality, keeping the shop open extra time so my wife and I could find the right gifts, Very personable, great merchandise and knowledge of the wares and the city. Truly enjoyed my visit and our conversation. Also got great items to bring home tailored to my kids' interests. Highly recommend this location.

Zak is an absolutely incredible man who gives his all to his customers. As a study abroad student, I found myself back in Zak's shop again and again, to shop for quality souvenirs, to ask his advice, or simply to take a moment to breathe before jumping back into the streets of the Old City. Zak took time to get to know us and care for us, even on days he knew we had no interest in purchasing anything from him. In addition, his merchandise is truly quality, and I left his store confident that I had made purchases fairly, and that the pieces I had picked out will remain treasures for decades to come. I can not recommend making a stop at Zak's enough.

Best place to buy gifts in Jerusalem. I should have bought more while I was there so I ordered more gifts online after returning home. Zack is a trusted friend of Dallas Theological Seminary.
