We ended up staying here for 3 hours it was such a relaxed vibe. Food was good, prices fairly reasonable. When I went to pay, the guy simply asked me what we had had, showing a lot trust! Thankfully I was able to remember everything. It is supposed to be an educational bookshop but be aware they only want to... More

I worked for 6 years at the Barnes and Nobles in Berkeley, CA and I thought we had the best selection of Middle Eastern books, but after just 1 minute at EB I realized that I knew nothing about the books available in English on the "Palestinian question" Amazing, there were literally hundreds of books I had never heard of... I stumbled into this place to ask for directions to the nearest ATM. I left ~45 minutes later - after having a delicious coffee and fascinating conversation with the staff and a few regular customers. Highly recommend a visit.

If you want to access a wide selection of books on Israel/Palestine this is the shop for you. There are many books which will help you get a wider understanding of the political situation there. Be warned books in Israel/Palestine at expensive by British standards.

Beautiful shop. English print books. They even have kids books hidden away just ask at the counter. The expresso coffee was good but expensive. They had clean toilets but no toilet paper. Across the road is a money changer who does decent rates and is open on Friday nights. This place is well worth a visit if you are walking... More

This book store has a lovely selection of books printed in English...from the classics, to politics/religion to cook books etc. They also have a small cafe where they make excellent coffee drinks, milkshakes and menu items like a few breakfast options and salad. The service is very good.

Fantastic English language selection of books, mostly from the Palestinian perspective, on the history of Palestine and Israel. Also has a limited collection on Islam and a very good literature/poetry collection. One of the few places open in this area on Friday evening, it is also a nice place to get something to eat and have a cup of fantastic... More

A great place to sit with a delightful coffee, read the news and people-watch. The selection of books on Palestine is second-to-none. Every time I had to visit East Jerusalem I would try and find an excuse to pop in here and pick up a postcard or some literature. Especially good selection of maps if you are looking to travel... Bookshop / cafe is a great base to have, a place where you can plan your daily activities in Jerusalem area, enjoy something from good and reasonably priced menu, meet old and new friends, as well as go through their extensive book collection - mostly from local topics and the conflict. You can get nice souveniers too! I frequently sit... More

I spent hours in this bookstore several times while I was in Jerusalem. Some of the books you will not find in the United States. They actually have three stores, this one, one across the street where the books in Arabic are sold and another in one of the hotels. Be sure to visit even if you don't need a... More
