We were just in time for a teaching session for a school class. The guide showed several birds, some of whom had to receive a ring. The child that gave the correct answer was allowed to 'help' set the bird free again. It's a very small place but lovely, with a small stream and pond, turtles, beautiful trees and flowers... More

I visited the bird observatory recently with a few friends. As we tried to find the place, people we asked kind of laughed at us. When we arrived we found out why. It is a tiny forsaken area with a bird watching "hide". The area you watch basically consists of a little pond and some trees. There was not a... More

Tucked in between the Knesset and the Supreme Court is this small natural preserve and bird sanctuary. It is a pleasant 20 minute walk from the heart of central Jerusalem, through the attractive Sacher Park, so very easy to get to. We saw many birds feeding and flitting between the trees and water. A group of school children were enjoying... More

The JERUSALEM BIRD OBSERVATORY is located in the center of Jerusalem near the Knesset. Visitors can stop by for an eco-experience. Bird watching, presentations, about bird migration in Israel, and a comprehensive urban nature experience is available for tourists visiting as groups or individuals. I recommend!

If you enjoy birding, don't miss a visit to the Jerusalem Observatory. It's a quiet little spot, a great place to see birds as they migrate through Israel.

The place is a little hard to find. Turn into the road between Sacher park and The Israel supreme court and travel towards the Knesset.. When you get to the barrier of the Knesset park your car on the right side of the road and walk towards the barrier. When you get there you will notice a narrow path to... More

What a great place for a birder visiting Jerusalem. It is very difficult to find this place. Had the taxi driver drop me at the nearby Rose Garden and tried to find it on my own. It is actually next to the Knesset. I was able to get some help finding it. The bird blind is great, and there were... More

Shows you a side of Israel you will not see otherwise--gets 5 stars only when the banding is going on, call to find out. A huge number of birds funnel through Israel and the station rings them. I got to see a Nightingale and many warblers. There is a blind to look for birds. Bring binoculars if you have them.
