Going inside the Dome of the Rock was one of the highlights of my month-long trip to the Holy Land. This is a sacred site near the Lion's Gate. Please note that if you go inside the Dome of the Rock a long skirt, long sleeves, and head scarf are required for women to wear. It's beautiful, ornate, and stunning... More

A contested area- but currently arab territory- the dome of the rock is second or third holiest place for arabs.. Inside the compound you will find arabs converging / meeting male separate from female... They prohibit jews inside- esp acts of praying. The dome is masssive inside. We had a chance to peak but not go inside.

A lot of security before being able to access this precinct. However, once inside be respectful that this is a religious site. I found most worshippers smiling and many approached to share dates and a chat in broken English. Excellent example of Islamic architecture and a historic Islamic venue. Allow around 1-2 hours.

We visited the Temple Mount/Dome of the Rock with a tour group of Israel. It is a beautiful structure. Non-Muslims are not allowed inside the Dome, but it is worth visiting anyway. We had to leave when it was time for prayers, so coordinate your visit to arrive early enough give you ample time.

After the tight security to enter, what a wonderful place. Herod was a builder and you see this. I was not threatened at all. It was amazing. A must visit.

Beautiful Temple but the access is so restricted and atmosphere tense! The times of visitation are changing, confusing. Visitors at best may walk around on the Temple Mount, take photos but the entry is denied. The temple Mount is always closed to non-Muslims on Friday, Saturday and during Ramadan so plan accordingly.

A beautiful and magnificent structure, amazing architecture all around, part of Al-Aqsa complex which also includes the Al-Aqsa mosque and the place where Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) lead the salah for all the Prophets, amazing view of the great city of Jerusalem.

We researched how to get up to Dome of the Rock, the restricted times, and the possible random security hassles. We lined up at Noon on Sunday, for the 12:30 - 1:30 visiting hours, and within 10 minutes after opening we were up on top, with access to the entire plaza. We did have one young man approach us and... More

The dome of the rock is an icon of Jerusalem. It stands out from all of the other buildings in the Old City. Really worth the trip up to the mount to see it up close. Non-Muslims are only able to go up at certain times and through 1 gate so check.
